Great setting but lacking mechanics
The setting of the game is unique, interesting, well presented, and engaging. I learned so much about the local Slavic mythology and its traditions and culture. Despite the large amounts of reading it did not get boring because it was paced so well. The lore would come in small chunks as you play through the game and you might have to use the information in a dialogue. The game itself was engaging enough that I finished it in ~30 hours and enjoyed it. Though with that said, I'm not sure I would keep playing if it was longer than that. It gets quite repetitive at some point and the new cards you unlock don't really bring as many new opportunities as you'd think. What I found the game was lacking in was: game balance and good vs bad balance. In terms of game balance, it is way too easy to build a killer deck and item combo. From about a quarter or a third of the game I had a specific bless/nuke deck/item combo and 99% of the fights were done before the enemy could even attack. I barely even had to upgrade my cards as I discovered new ones. Even the final battle was essentially trivial despite the intention of it being essentially impossible given the way I played through the story. Basically the challenge was low and I played on the difficulty level one above normal (but not the most difficult one - I wanted to make sure to finish my one playthrough). In terms of good vs bad balance, the story lets you choose between good and bad and there's a sin counter to tell you how you're doing. However, I found that perspective a bit limiting. The story is about how the main character loses her betrothed and sets out to become a sorceress to bring him back. It's a very individual story rather than some generic good vs. bad. Therefore, I steered my choices based on that idea. If something was obstructing the character from that goal, I would do evil if I perceived that more in line of "I will do everything to bring back my betrothed" but otherwise would do good. I was a bit disappointing when the endings turned out to be a bit more generic good vs. evil. You either were good ad forgave everybody and everything is nice afterwards or you were evil and cursed everybody and things are bad for everybody else in the end.

Touching and fun
I played this on Epic (it was a giveaway a while back) and love it. The card battles are simple enough to pick up and it's possible to make some ungodly broken combos if you get the right cards and items against the right enemies - very fun. At the same time, it does very well in selling the feeling of the culture and superstitions of the setting, without it getting in the way of the story. The game also does well in making the player feel like they are making real choices in the life of your character, and your decisions will affect how the story ultimately ends. I would highly recommend it, and I plan to buy it on GOG when it goes on sale (yes I am cheap, sorry not sorry).

Nice
If you can make yourself bear this so-called "3D" graphics (have seen better in late 90's), everything else is fine, even great sometimes.
