Masterpiece!
I had no idea they were coming to GOG. Insta buy! It's just an amazing franchise - atomspheric, great story and excellent gameplay. Do yourself a favor...buy them both!

An iconic horror shooter with powers
BioShock is a horror FPS where you play as a man who was trapped in a ruined underwater city following a plane crash. Used to be a utopia, it's now overrun by murderous, insane people. You'll have access to plenty of weapons, but the unique thing is that you have access to Plasmids as well. These are potions that allow you to have powers, like telekinesis, fire, electricity, enraging enemies, and many others, but you can only equip 6 at maximum. The underwater city of Rapture is also one of the most iconic locations in gaming. It has beautiful Art Deco aesthetics, and many weapons, items, and decorations also have that retro style. The setting is definitely the highlight of the series, and a pretty unique place for a FPS. It manages to catch that unsettling feeling of a beautiful place fallen to ruin, and its messed-up inhabitants. This version of BioShock is the remastered version, which have better graphics and more options such as field of view. But the highlight of this version is actually the extra content, you have access to a museum of abandoned concepts, and 3 challenge rooms, 2 of them puzzle and 1 combat. There's also achievements if you play through Galaxy. These extra content are not available in the original version. Many people seem to have complains about the game crashing, but personally I only experienced in once in this version, and maybe 2 or 3 times in Steam. I'm not sure what's really causing this, I played both versions on the same Windows 10 laptop. Just save often to be safe. That aside, if you're a fan of horror shooters BioShock is an iconic title you must play. Whether the more stable original version, or the probably unstable remaster but with extra content, give it a try!

Attention potential Spyware / Malware
2K has retroactively changed their EULA. Now they collect literally anything on your computer (including but not exclusively visited websites or payment information for example). Not sure if they are also installing rootkit like software in the gog version like they do in non gog versions. gog should consider banning all 2k games because I dont think that their EULA complies with gogs vision...

Great game, but don't waste your time
I loved playing the original years ago. The game has a great story and gameplay. However, you should not bother with this remaster. During my time playing it, I experienced numerous crashes resulting in hours of progress being lost due to the game only autosaving after each level. This led to me manually saving the game every 15 to 20 minutes or so. The final straw for me was when the game crashed whilst saving. It happened before, but I thought it would just revert me to a save of ten minutes ago. With this crash however, it reverted me to a save of several days ago. All my saves of that day had been lost during the crash; no file recovery whatsoever could recover them. Deleted the game and requested a review right after that. Don't waste your time like I have. System used: Windows 11 Ryzen 5 5600X RTX 3060 Ti 16GB DDR4 RAM

Spaßig, kleinere Probleme.
Ich habe das Spiel damals über eine andere Plattform gespielt und gut in Erinnerung. Als es hier nun angeboten wurde, hatte ich sofort wieder Bock drauf. Es dauert ungewöhnlich lange, bis das Spiel startet-nicht nur beim ersten Mal nach der Installation, sondern immer (ist aber nicht wirklich dramatisch). Ich spiele mit einem X-Box 360 - Controller, was für mein Empfinden hervorragend funktioniert. Das Öffnen der Karte im Spiel geschieht auch immer mit einiger Verzögerung nach Drücken des Buttons, aber sie geht auf. Hierbei hatte ich allerdings schon 2 Totalabstürze zu verzeichnen: das Spiel fror ein und es ging gar nichts mehr. Habe zugeschlagen, als das Spiel vergünstigt angeboten wurde. um es einfach nochmal durchzuspielen. Dafür bereue ich den Kauf nicht, auch wenn es bei mir nicht 100% fehlerfrei lief.
