Betrayal at Krondor Pack

The dated graphics and combat may turn some people off but if you give it a chance this is probably one of the best RPGs of all time. Story wise, it's an excellent and even the combat which seems lacking at first becomes more engaging as the user unlocks additional spells, etc. There's an issue where CD-Music once enabled fails to loop which GOG sadly never fixed. One workaround is to find a good soundfont like EmperorGrievous and switch over to Roland-SC which will greatly improve MIDI. This will unfortunately diminish the quality of sound-effects and drop certain voice overs but there's a community mod which will allow you to combine Roland-SC with SoundBlaster which resolves this issue. Highly recommended. If you're into open world RPGs then I'd give this one a try when it's on sale.

You find yourself wandering the open world not knowing what you're looking for only to finally find a riddle-locked chest behind a random house or a cave hidden behind a waterfall. Only then can the game progress. These are examples of how the game not only rewards exploration but makes it a necessity. The game is challenging, yes. Combat is addicting, but frustrating as its easy to have your entire party die. You quickly learn to use coatings and other enhancements on your weapons to gain the much needed edge. Sometimes the dialog feels like reading through a novel (how appropriate) but I found the story captivating and each character memorable. Highly recommend

Betrayal in Kondor starts and works fine with just clicking on the shortcut. Betrayal in Ankara is straight broken. Iv tried like 20 different fixes that are on the internet and i cant even get the game to get past loading into a black screen with just mouse cursor that looks like a sword. You can hear audio that plays for 2 seconds and then loops. I originally found GOG because they made old games work unlike steam was. Guees both of yall sell games that dont work these days.

Betrayal at Krondor is the best RPG I have ever played period.. for so many reasons as stated in other reviews here.. it is superlative in all respects. Thats it ;)
