Excellent
Alright, so first off, yes, this is an *adult* game. There is sex. Lots of it. And I'll admit, that's basically why I started playing it. But it's much more than that. You really get pulled in to the characters and story. It's a great ride so far, really looking forward to what's yet to come.

The Visual Novel High Bar
Having finished "Acting Lessons", I decided to give Dr. PinkCake's most recent title a shot. And while not perfect, I can say that Being a DIK sets the standard by which other visual novels (and adult titles in particular) will be judged. Pros: +Interesting, if unrealistic story that is well written with good pacing. +Genuine humor. While I didn't find it as funny as Acting Lessons, it does have its moments. +Branching story with multiple outcomes and choices that matter a bit more than your average VN. +Most characters feel genuine and nuanced. +Sex scenes are well animated for the most part. A definite improvement over Acting Lessons. +Music is varied and well used. +Mini games that break up the monotony. +Sets the standard by which future adult visual novels will be judged. Cons: -Some choices are missing, leading the main character down paths that you, the player, might not want him to go. -A few characters are rather cookie cutter. More like stereotypes rather than actual characters. -Mini games are too easy. While I appreciate their inclusion, they don't really offer any risk vs reward. -Very, very slow development. At the time of writing this, there are two seasons with a third in the works that's due to be released.....sometime. Dr. PinkCake needs to learn that hiring people to help make your game doesn't mean you have to give up creative control, as the excuse for not doing so has been. Overall, it's worth your time. The story and skill with which its told are on par with the best that the VN genre has to offer and the porn aspect is as good or better than most adult games on the market. Add those together and it really doesn't have an equal. It's not going to replace Pornhub for your fapping needs. But if your interested in adult games or want to experience one for the first time, you can't really go wrong with Being a DIK. Just don't expect this level of quality anywhere else in the genre.

Amazing discovery
So I learned by odds the existance of Being a Dik, so I played it before Acting lessons and I am doing it right now. I really love the ambiance of these types of game. The soundtrack is amazing, the humor is great... I don't have so much else to say that I loved these games, though I prefer Being a Dik to Acting lessons. I was really engaged in the characters and I felt empty when I had to wait for the season 2 ! :D I wanted to leave a good review since I saw some people review bomb it because there are explicit scenes.

This is obviously taking adult VN's to another level. Worth the whatever they're asking for it. Acting lessons is no joke either but this one is simply amazing.

Surprisingly good!
The game genuinely surprised me. I purchased with fairly low expectations, and though my initial impression vindicated those expectations, the more i played it the more i enjoyed it. I found the story to be competent, and for the most part well written. Same for the dialogue, well written, and quite funny at times, which is good because a game with such a heavy emphasis on adult content i think works best with a heavy dose of comedy attached to it its plots. Gameplay wise it's a fairly simple visual novel, but with some fairly enjoyable minigames. Game music was decent, but when it comes to audio, one issue i have is that it would be really nice if they could incorporated a little bit more ambient noise to the game, like for example, the scenes in the Library are often dead silent, no music, which i guess makes sense, but it would be nice to at least have some very subtle ambient noise of whispers and such, i'm sure the developers could have licensed some recorded audio of what a Library should sound like and insert into the game for those sections. Visual quality is decent, though i find the character models to often breach into the realm of uncanny valley feeling, some characters look fairly realistic, while others look like they are suffering from a severe case of dehydration, so yeah mixed bag, and those issues stand out especially when the characters are of such high definition but their background are often super low definition. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the enviromental assets were straight up purchased from an asset store because they are so generic and have so much variation in their quality. One minor critcisim, the developers went out of their way to insult certain groups of people. They could have tone it down some of the stereotypes they used, and with the strawmaning of so many political arguments, they ocasioanlly said something meaningfull, but those were rare exceptions, a lot of it just felt unnecessary for the plot.
