Not without its flaws - but seem to have spent a shit ton of time playing this. v.good/awesome. It's a shame that nobody has modernised & expanded on this!

It's Battletech!
This is a great translation of the Battletech system into a turn-based combat setting for the computer. The gameplay is easy to pick up, but the combat is varied enough to keep you engaged. There is an unfortunate lack of tonnage caps, however, that prevent careful mech deployment late game. By late game, you have assult mechs, and no reason not to field them, which makes combat feel a bit same-y after a while. Still, there is a real entertainment value to having built up your lance to the point that you can blow your enemies to scrap without mercy. Overall, a great take on Battletech.

This is Battletech
This game easily joins the likes of Mechcommander and Mechwarrior 4 and one of the best battletech games available. It does an excellent job of capturing the Battletech universe, the gameplay is fun, and thanks to the healthy support of the modding community, the depth and replayability is virtually endless.
