Overpriced and Not Great

I really don't like the style of these new portraits. I feel the colors are over-saturated and the poses are exaggerated and goofy. I don't know if this legendary Mike Sass that GOG keeps raving about changed his style over the years or if someone else did some of the original portraits, but I like the original style much better. I also feel that the asking price is very unreasonable for a character portrait DLC. Some have said that they would buy this just to support the company, but even for that I would suggest instead buying base game keys for your friends and family.

Support real artists, not AI!

I have no problem paying full price to the artist (especially Mike Sass the initial BG portraits creator) that creates original work and not some random AI prompter guy. I am pretty sure most of the royalties goes to the artist and not Beamdog anyway. And yes there are a lot of different portrait packs available on Nexus and other places, but most of them are pretty weak, or actors faces converted to fantasy style, or AI generated crap. I did find some great ones though, but those are mostly exceptions to the rule Ok, so whoever is still wondering about buying one or both DLC's, I have the answer: You only need ONE of them! I've bought the DLC for BG2EE and the new portraits are stored as *.bmp files in the folder: \Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition\portraits\ Now you can take all this pictures and copy them manually to BG1EE documents folder (important, this is the place where your saves are, not the installation folder). On windows it should be: c:\Users\\Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\portraits\ Restart the game and enjoy the new portraits in both games!

No Windows Offline installer

In my Library, there is no No Windows Offline installer for Baldur's Gate II: Reflections Of Myth & Valor. It only has the Mac one. Please fix this issue. When you click the Windows download link, it will only download the Mac installer of it.

Buy only if you want to support, but...

I only bought this pack to support the IE games, but I don't like the style of the portraits! I also advise against buying it unless you're hoping for regular updates and better content. The portraits don't fit either BG1 or BG2; they look more like character portraits from "League of Legends." I have no idea who provided Mike Sass with the that idea for the portraits. I only know that they were created from personal fan photos, which is a cool idea. Beamdog, if you're reading this: Both games, even the third one, have a darker, more realistic atmosphere. The fans are adults, and if you don't consider them in your marketing decisions, you're not doing anyone a favor. When newcomers arrive, they'll initially look to the veterans for guidance, and if you don't win them over, you'll lose money and reputation.

Decent Pack of New Faces for BG

It's always nice to get some new portraits for BG:EE, and these are fine and add another way to support the company with the added touch of being made by Mike Sass who did the original portraits for the game. The price might seem high but realistically it couldn't be much lower. I do wish the pack would auto install in both BG:EE editions if you own them as it can look like you need to buy the pack separately for both BG 1 and BG 2. Still happy to see another update even if small.
