A pretty good game with some mods
So I looked at the controversy with Dragonspear, and how the developers pushed their own political views into it. And while sadly this proved to be right, they fortunately largely withdrew after the backlash. I can understand why people don't like the 5 new companions, which some feel fall out of place (Neera is okay, but she can be a bit annoying, though less so in BG 2 than BG 1). And I also beleive that Dragonspear is rather bland and the NPC's are acting a bit like... NPC's (cookie for those who get the reference). But all in all I think it can still be an enjoyable experience. However, I would recommend for people to stick to BG 1 and BG 2, to which the Enhanced Edition adds a few minor features. For those that do not like the new companions, here is a link to a mod that removes some or all of them: http://www.shsforums.net/topic/58322-mod-convenient-enhanced-edition-npcs/ For those who want the original "Baldur's Gate 2 Complete" edition which existed before this one, you can still download it after you buy this version. To do this you go to the game in your shelf here on this website (not in GOG Galaxy) and left click on it. Above the big blue gog galaxy download button there are three dropdown tabs, system, language and more. Go into more and there will be an item called SERIAL KEYS, click on this and you will be shown a link. Copy and paste this to a new tab and you can use this code to add the original version of BG1, BG2 and icewind dale to your owned games. This way you can get the original experience, just like the original creators (which were doctors btw, and very awesome people) intended. Yes, no same-sex marriages etc. But honestly, having a game that doesn't pander like most games do now is very refreshing. I myself am playing this Enchanced Edition, with most new companions removed except Rasaad, because I love the Dragon Disciple https://pihwiki.bgforge.net/Baldur%27s_Gate:_Enhanced_Edition_Classes With this, I hope you'll have a great time.
