ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game

Very happy to play a game with only male protagonists and rampant misogyny thank you non western devs

Great idea, promissing description and... Total disapointment. This really low quality Fallout 1 & 2 with better graphics however: 1) Lack of humour 2) Poor mechanics 3) Poor idea for the main story Conclusion: This is really bad title which is not worth any money. Don't buy it.

Like 99.9% of wannabe deep turn based games: slow, tedious, specially random outcomes and all the etceteras turn based tactical games suffer. I always used to believe that turns against a AI is a pure waste of time, because the AI will let you win rolling poorly or will crush you in a blink because is the AI and doesn't care about stats. Some way the software of the game, letting you win and making you lose, through this "balance", the game becomes engaging, killing one of the most important things you may need from a game: the true feeling that you achieved something with your own Skill. That's why, basically, turn based games against computers lack a lot of sense. That's the case with this game too. One of the most broken, random and tedious combat systems. It carries all the bad from the old school and slaps it at your face like a good thing. Maybe turn based isn't my thing and I explained above why. But, for example, I've played Warhammer 40k Chaos Gate and the turns going on and the combat itself was far more dynamic and enjoyable. In my case i found this game very broken, very shallow, awfully slow and boring.

Imagine if someone took Fallout 1, did nothing at all to improve or update it, and threw in some casual antisemitism. That's Atom RPG. Play literally anything else.

While the ambiance is good, and it promises another Fallout 1-2-like experience, the difficulty is way too high even on the easiest setting. The game designers have filled the game with obstacles that force long delays in moving the story forward, etc., etc. I find the game playable, but more frustrating than fun, and, well, seeing as a game is supposed to be fun.... The cheats don't work for me, either. I don't know whether the devs have disabled them, of there's something I'm missing, but if the cheat codes work for you, the game will be fun. If not, spend your $ elsewhere.
