Fun PlayStation Mobile game

Bought this on the Vita ages ago and I haven't regretted it. It's a very fun throwback to the Midway Defender days, but with lol cats and power ups galore. The game features a handful of worlds with another handful of levels per world, I believe I counted 22 total (And the world menu can be seen in the above trailer). Missions can be beaten without saving every Kitty but saving every Kitty adds to the replay value as you get a plaque on the levels you have... Must resist awful joke... Can't help it... A plaque on the levels you've purrfected. All in all for a few pound/bucks etc... You can do far worse. Add in the co-op on the P.C version and it's enough to make me want to buy it again as my Vita experience is 1p only. All in all it's a good game at a good price.

It's Defender !!!

If you know the old arcade classic "Defender" then you know this game too, because that's what it is: a "renewed" submarine version of the old space shooter with cats as protagonists. My only complaint is that this game is quite short (you can finish it in a couple of days) but beside that it's simple and enjoyable, even playing with a friend (and trying to beat the high scores adds some more longevity too).

Warm fuzzy nostalgia.

This game brought me back to the early 90's when I sat in my room with my Amiga 500 and played games like Blood Money and R-Type. Not only is the pixel art AMAZING it's matched by an equally amazing soundtrack. I could wish for a bit more content than just going round and saving milk miners in the ocean. It could have been a bit more diverse. But, I love it. I absolutely love this game because it reminds me of the best parts of the games that I played in the early 90's.

A great little game

This is a fun game. The graphics are colorful and have a very appealing retro look. The music is also pretty cool, again opting for a retro feel. The gameplay is solid - you just fly (float?) around blasting enemies. The game starts easy, but eventually turns into brutal skirmishes with enemies and bullets flying everywhere to the point where it's almost like a bullet hell game. The difficulty does not disappoint - not a cakewalk, but not overly frustrating. It also has multiple difficulty levels, including an "arcade mode" where you try to play through all levels with a single life. One possible fault might be how short it is; on the other hand, the game wraps itself up before it overstays its welcome, and the harder difficulties and beating the high scores extend the replay value. The only thing I wish they did differently was include more upgrades. Your secondary weapon has a recharge bar that increases in length as you progress through the game, but that's it. Other upgrades would have made things more interesting, but it's a minor gripe. A lot of people compare this game to Defender. I never played Defender, but even without nostalgia coming into play for me, this game was good enough to make me come here to write this review. It's very fun and I'm glad I made my purchase. And I haven't even tried co-op yet!

Great Arcade experience

Aqua Kitty captures the old arcades feeling perfectly... or purrfectly in this case. At it's core, it is a simple arcade game as they were in the arcade's golden age: you move up and down, left and right and shoot sea creatures that threaten the milk mining operation of the kitties. As you do that, you gather power ups and and shoot even more sea creatures. And all that in a beautiful and cute retro look with a fitting (and great) arcade soundtrack. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone who likes the good old oldies. Now all I need is to play this co-op...
