Good JRPG that isn't a JRPG
Great characters, great plot, great music, great cinematics and so on. It's a very good game, with one big flaw. There is a cliffhanger, and there will never be a sequel.

Good story but..
I like the game. It is what you'd expect from an rpg made almost 19 years ago. It's not at all just about the combat although the story unfolds somwhat very slow. The lock picking tho - it's driving me nuts.

The very definition of GOG.
Anachronox is Good, it's Old, and it's also a Game. What else is there to be said? It's a comedy that makes me laugh. It's challenging. It's darn good fun. And my Christmas wish every year since it released has been to give me sequel.

A nearly perfect game of its era
I played Anachronox when it was brand new. And then I played it 5 or so years later, heavily modded to deal with things like quad core processors and other tech evolutions. And here I am nearly 30 years later, on my fifth or sixth play through. Snappy dialog, fun characters, neat environments. If you can sit through the endless elevator ride cut scenes and other relics of this era, you will love it.
