AMID EVIL

FUNtastischer Ego-Shooter mit absolut stilsicherer Präsentation, ob in grafischer oder tonaler Hinsicht. Spielerisch gibt's verschachtelte Levels in unterschiedlichen Settings, mit ordentlichem Ausmaß um mit hoher Bewegungsgeschwindigkeit auf weitem Flur großen Gegnern in Hülle und Fülle mit abwechslungreichen Waffen ins Jenseits zu befördern. Behilflich ist dabei etwa ein Eiszapfen-verschießender Morgenstern, der neugewonnene Feindschaften an die Wände nagelt, oder ein leibzerfetzender Planetenwerfer... ja, PLANETEN! Danke Indefatigable und New Blood Interactive!

Great level design

Loved the game. Wish there were more tipes of weapons, but what we got are preety fun and each one feels very different than the other. Great enemy variaty, combat and sound are preety good, but i think where this game truly shines is in the great leve design. That combined with the the great visuals ( not only pixelated but really pretty and well done) makes the experience worth it. The game is short, completed it in about 10 hours on hard. So great do pick up and play a bit if your are short on time.

Still Searching For a Game?

This is the game you're looking for. One of the best games I've played, and that is a large, large sample size. Controls feel fluid, weapons are satisfying, world is eerie and mysterious. Bravo.

Fantastic

Absolute banger of a retro-style twitch FPS. Great controls, glowing intense graphics with a fairly unique style (the sprite-like weapons look so sick), omenous soundscapes, epic boss fights, wide range of weapons. Super dope. Highly recommended. I am deducting a star for the medium-ish optimization, and some frankly unreliable weapon-switching. You should get used to using the number row, because scrolling is not consistent. I also feel like the "YOU STAND ALONE" tagline was an excuse to make sure nobody asked for multiplayer, which would be dope, but it doesn't have it. Anyhoozers. Loved this experience. Took me 15 hours to get win the game on hard difficulty, getting 60% of the achievements.

Absolutely fantastic

Amongst all boomer shooters that I've played, this one's my favourite. It doesn't have the atmosphere of "Dusk", the levels aren't as tightly designed as in "Ion Fury", but the combat is just... so, so good. Weapons are incredibly powerful and satisfying to use (I didn't think "Blood" could be exceeded in this regard, but it was!), monsters are deadly, and long fights leave you breathing heavily while experiencing something akin to post-coital afterglow. There are issues, sure: navigating around the Sacred Path (E3) can be a bit confusing, platforming in the Forges (E5) kills my enjoyment of an otherwise stellar level, and the bosses are very vulnerable to the powered up Star of Torment, but they pale in comparison with the sheer majesty of this game. Also, the soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult is beautiful, my favourite track being "Aetheres".
