Japanese translation is done by Chinese = broken Joypad button assignment doesn't work. I have to move and shoot altogether only by right hand The game itself looks enjoyable but hard to keep playing it.

I received all three alien breed games for free, I've only played this one so far. It didn't impress me, I doubt I'll play the rest of the series any time soon. I only played the single player, I imagine it's more fun in co-op, but I also imagine there are better co-op twin stick shooters. It's got good things going for it. Most of the weapons sound nice and are fun to use. The environments are fairly well done, there are dark industrial parts that feel claustrophobic and you'll see movement in the distance only to discover it's just some debris rolling around as the ship sways, and then there are more futuristic sic-fi parts that are bright and open and lend themselves to arena combat, there are some scripted events where you see people getting mauled by aliens or parts of the ship explode, and there are a few special areas like a poison-filled greenhouse or a ghost ship that's been taken over by this strange alien biogrowth. The biggest problem is the repetitive gameplay. There are lots of different enemy types, but the strategy for all of them is shoot it until it dies. And the first few times aliens burst out of the floor to ambush you are tense, but it's less fun when you realize this is the entire game. Plus the mission objectives are dull, they're basically "go to point A to push a button, then backtrack to point B to push another button, then go back point A to go through the previously locked door." Oh and you can only save at designated save stations, so if you die you could get bounced back 5 or 10 minutes and you'll have to redo all that stuff you just did.

Very Basic But Good For What It Is
Don't pay full price for this. I got the whole trilogy for free and currently it's on sale for about a dollar, but the normal price of $10 is way too much. It's a pretty basic, generic game where you run around shooting aliens and flipping switches, but I've played other similar low-budget games like Shadowgrounds and this one at least does this basic concept fairly well, enough to where, while I can't recommend buying it, I don't regret spending time playing it and will probably play the other two installments eventually. The aliens are pretty generic brown-colored bugs without much to distinguish them, and pretty much just pop out of the ground to ambush you over and over, but are fast enough and attack in large enough groups to pose a danger. The gameplay is mostly running around a ship which is continually exploding, beep-booping computer screens to try to reactivate ship systems, only to discover that some secondary system that the first system needs is also down and you need to go beep-boop THAT screen first. It gets old quick but the game is only a few levels long and the levels themselves have some cool-looking sci-fi equipment that the creators definitely had fun designing, like the magnetic floor panels that assemble themselves or the part where you have to briefly spacewalk through an exposed and collapsing section of the ship. The story is told through cutscenes with voiced comic-book style panels, which is a nice stylistic touch that helps set the game apart. The weapons are nothing spectacular but satisfying to use, and while sometimes they seem to miss an alien that you're aiming right at, ammo and health are plentiful enough that this doesn't become a problem, while not so plentiful that you can breeze through without paying close attention to them. It's a game that obviously had limitations, but the creators put some work and passion in rather than taking the easiest, laziest path. It's not spectacular or memorable but it's also not a waste.

No multiplayer
They neutered this version, from its steam counter part. All the 3 games, have multiplayer, you can tell they removed that, i thought they'd mention they removed it here on GOG but they don't. That said, the game is alot of fun WHEN you have a friend to play with, the problem is this gog release doesn't have that so your better off looking at the STEAM build of this game, since multiplayer is present, and you can actually enjoy it together vs solo.
