This is a lot fun
I have been holding off purchasing this game -- but that I have to admit that I was missing out here.. This is a pretty fun game. And it really is not that hard. One just has to practice at it and "git good".

A great side-scroller arena slasher
It's pretty simple, but the gameplay is pretty good. Controls are responsive, and a one-hit-kill arena (minus the elite 'brute' enemies) is a very fast-paced and fun game. It's more about unlocking the new gear than progressing in the waves (although there is some of that, too) and that forces you to try different and riskier things than would otherwise be warranted. I think that is a good decision, since otherwise the player might get stuck in a rut of using the same equipment at all times, which eventually makes the game boring.

Very nice but not perfect
Well paced, if it wasn't just an arena it would have been more engaging in my opinion, with some sort of story progression (plus since the game is a bit repetitive, a bigger pool of tracks would have made it better). Despite these (in my opinion) little flaws i think it's very enjoyable.

Arcade-style action goodness!
It's one of those simple high score games that gets harder and harder as you progress. One life only is brutal, but given the overall game design it's probably the right choice. The side-objectives to unlock gear keeps the game fresh as you master it. My only big complaint is that when you use a controller, you have to press the right stick to prepare a special move, then use the right bumper or trigger to activate one, which feels really awkward since the right stick is not used for anything else in the game. Otherwise, solid game!
