Wish I could play
I’ve followed every guide online I could find and nothing worked. It always crashes the second it gets to the main menu.

What a pleasant surprise
Not even sure why i bought this game, did not play it when i was younger, atleas i do not remember it (was more of Heroes player) but boy i sure am glad i did buy it, great game, love the graphics and the music, the music is at least for me cherry on top of a great pie :) I like that its more like that the battlefield is bigger, also its not as high fantasy crazy as heroes (not a bad thing , just as getting older i like more subtle stuff i guess) Overall i totally recommend, it has that odlschool fantasy magic for sure :)

Really good game
i just wish I didn't have to buy it again to play it again. The original install disks refuse to work for this and the sequels. One of the games I saved in my recent old software purge... 3 large boxes didn't meet the cut, but this is one of the ones that did.

Good game, with technical problems
The game is a solid early fantasy civ lite type of game. I feel like its a simpler Civ/LotR/DnD esq hybrid. Unfortunately being an older game it doesnt run well on newer machine/Operating systems. GoG has clearly done some sort of technical imprvements over the steam version which crashes every couple minutes, but even the GoG version still crashes pretty consistantly aprox every hourish of gameplay. Even with an auto save this is frustrating, but its at least playable if you really like the game.
