Linear sneaking story game in dark ages
Third person game with sneaking as it’s main core, linear method of solving simple obstacles for defeating enemies and clearing path to survival. Plays really comfortable from the couch with no hardcore input needed, just need to be alert. Finished the game 100% in 17 hours and 30 minutes. PROS: -Art is giving the correct dark christian medieval setting astonishingly, damaged skins on faces, dirty clothes, pale gloomy mood atmosphere... amazing. -Rats are creating amazing twists in game mechanics and creeping up feeling. -Sneaking and hiding from enemies while distracting them in very well designed levels. -Dark medieval age setting by mixing it with war environment makes it truly chaotically good. -Story progressively becomes interesting by growing the main protagonists in their own way. -Crafting new projectiles or mixtures gives the game interesting mechanics to counter obstacles. NEUTRAL: -Combat is "keep your distance and kill" while solving enemy patterns, getting grabbed/shot/stabbed is death. BUT this is far more interesting than just a hack/slash game. -Characters are a bit simple, there is no deep conversation with them. BUT what they encounter are unexpectedly bloody good. -Achievement completion is not possible without watching walkthrough. BUT chapters can be played separately to get them easily afterwards. -Equipment upgrade was the most time consuming for me, because of the efficiency that's needed with the founded items. BUT the game can be beaten without upgrading fully. -Auto checkpoints, cannot save manually. BUT chapters are not that time consuming. -English voice acting has a french accent to it. BUT it's understandable, french indie developer. CONS: -Some levels/battles have to be solved in the one way the developers meant it to be, doing it wrong or not knowing what to do is not acceptable. -Replay value is slim, no new game plus with new experiences, instead you get 3 save slots in total, allowing to begin from scratch. -OST download?
