Final Fantasy VII on playstation1 is my last final fantasy make. I hate the last parts of this game...so boring.
www.endlegit.com and www.jordanagain.com
square will not let go of it . if you buy it again (my 3rd time) know that you can only install it 3 times if you get new pc or if you reformat your current it counts as a new install FYI
The fixed version that plays better then the PS1 version? Yes please! I have the PS1 version still, but it will only last so long. Much rather get a PC version that is DRM free and digital so it will last even longer.
Ya its on squer but if GOG made it for MAC and LINUX i would be a win win
Don't let Sephiroth win... Make it a GOG game!
I beg of you... get this game! Thus far, thanks to GoG, I've managed to avoid getting Steam. But I sure have a hankering for some Final Fantasy VII... and I really don't want to step into that mess of DRM that is acquiring it from anywhere other than GoG.
Other version has ALWAYS ONLINE DRM. Idiot Square!

I think it's worth mentioning that the recent re-release of FFVII is much better than the old PC version. It would be a great game to add to Gog.
Bought the DRM version, and it's not working for me because that DRM thing glitches. Wrote to support, got no answer. DRM is hell. Please, GOG, if there's anything you can do...
A version without that unwanted DRM? Yes, I'd buy that. ^_^ Throw in some extras (Like a soundtrack...) and instant buy! O_O
FFVII is a true masterpiece.
Yyyyyeah, I have the PC version of this game. It's crap. The videos are lower quality than the PS1 and poorly scaled to a higher resolution monitor. The videos and the rendered characters are out of sync, the fully rendered minigames play too fast, the midi music doesn't fade, and they removed the lyrics from "A One-Winged Angel." Spend five bucks to buy an old PS1, or just spend $10 to get it on a modern PlayStation system. Don't waste your money on the PC version, and don't hassle GOG for it either.
Make it available for mac as well
Now that it's on Steam I don't see a LOT of reasons why Gog couldn't get it. The big issue is the whole NO DRM thing. Square seems to be firmly in the 'YOU MIGHT HAVE STOLEN IT, SO PROVE YOU DIDN'T!' boat when it comes to digital distribution. I just wish I could go to Square and tell them that we DON'T CARE about the online features, or the achievements, or ANY of the the crap they added.
Well, i can say without fear to be damned: we are talking of the BEST rpg-story ever done for PC. Not to mention the lot of work that the comunity all over the planet has done on this piece of pure art. Lots of mod, translation in different language and even re-done the fmv section in better resolution! It remembers me the same work did for System Shock 2. I'll await it on gog cause it is the best site!
Bring back memories to us!
I got the PC re-release last year for free when it popped up early on the Square Enix store but I'd still entertain the thought of buying it from GOG if it became available here.
You don't know how much i would love to play again Final Fantasy VII. Even better if without any useless stuff like the always online DRM, cloud saves and achievements.
Was going to get this on Steam until I saw that it still requires online authentication with Squenix. Screw that, they don't get to double up on the DRM. I'll wait for it to maybe one day come here and be DRM free.
I'm with you guys on wanting FFVII to come to GOG. I went ahead and bought the Steam version, but would prefer it non-DRMed. I'd gladly go without cloud saves and achievements just to have it DRM-free. But, if I gotta tolerate DRM, I may as well get all the perks that come with it.
Not getting this double DRM release (Steam and Square Enix Check) Only if it is available to GOG.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/39140/ It is available on Steam... I hope it will available on GOG.com.
FYI people - this was just re-released on Steam.
If you could convince SE to put their games on GOG I'd buy them, but I don't want anyone in this company to lose any sleep or sanity trying to reason with SE on the benefits of less restrictive digital distribution.
If you like Final Fantasy, you may also want to check out Soul Saga: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/soul_saga
Wish I'd come here and read about the DRM bs before buying it at Sqenix...I scoured their website, but couldn't find anything about limitations, so I assumed it was safe. Oh well; it's only $5.99 US. I'll still buy it if it ever comes to GoG for the support.
@Darkwalker try using the fix in the first post of this thread: http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/214035-how-install-final-fantasy-vii-windows-7-x64-64-bit.html if you need PM me, use the forums.
I have then original CD's for this game on PC. I havent played this game in years because I have been unable to get it to run with later windows versions. I could not get it to run when I used XP and when I swapped to Win 7 it only got worse. I have been all over the net to try and find a solution, but none I have found works. I really wish that this game would become available here on GOG and compatible with later windows versions. I have long considered getting the PS version, but would prefer to have the game on PC. I dont like consoles very much and prefer to have all my games on PC.
DO NOT BUY THIS OFF THE SQUARE SITE. 1) You will have to log in online every single time you want to play the game. 2) The secu-rom codes are a pain in the ass. You will have to manually activate this stupid thing. 3) If you logged in from the NA site, this log in that you created will not work on this game. You will have to make a new one on the EU site. When you log in after doing that be aware that the log in name that you sign up with and the log in name that appears on your screen will NOT be the same log in name you have to use to log in to play this sorry POS. You will have to use a log in name that was sent to you in an email. Congratulations square, I am from this point forward boycotting your company. This is total shit.
Are there any promo codes for this?
Okay, now I found it. Is this legit? Did I stumble on to a malware site or something? I mean really? SE making something easily available? And is this fixed up from the original PC version?
How do you get this for PC of the square enix site? I mean, is that for real?
Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please!!!
DO NOT BUY THE VERSION FROM THE SQUARE-ENIX STORE. I love this game, however i refuse to buy it from the S-E store, it's loaded with DRM and after 30 days have passed on your purchase YOU CANNOT DOWNLOAD THE GAME AGAIN, once 30 days has passed if you need to download it again then you need to buy the game again. It's a bloody scam.
On the US Square Enix site, I just created an account and was able to successfully purchase FFVII for myself for only $7 USD. I am literally downloading the game as we speak. PS, I'm in Ontario, Canada. I can't see Square ever giving up a cash cow like the FF series for companies like GoG to release to us. As is, the cost I just paid was very reasonable.
The Best JRPG Of All time. period. I've got this game on all the platforms available but they all require some sort of registration code/ they have DRM to their guts. Release it DRM-Free and you'll boldly go where no online store has gone before. INSTABUY for a lot of people, myself included
This would be awesome for gog to release this, they would probably do a better attempt at it than square enix did last year
played the FF7 demo on a christmas pc gamer uk disc.. was it '97..'98? It was yellow with dark stripes on it (bonus disc). The intro arpeggios in that prelude theme song always gets me :S
oh, now i'll cry... FF7 would be fantastic. I would skip work to play this again...
On the square enix store you can purchase final fantasy 7, there was also a rumor saying that ff7 might come to steam...check this out; http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-06-21-final-fantasy-7-coming-to-steam-leak-suggests
Apropos of nothing, from what I remember, it had a better translation (by Eidos?) than the PS version, which is what is available on the Playstation store. Could be my memories playing tricks on me - I lost all the CDs but the installation disk somewhere :)
Von, they did recently fix it up in their Windows 7 re-release. That being said it isn't getting much exposure on the Square Store because most people don't even know it is there. Not my most favourite jRPG of all time by any means, but it deserves a place here. Upvoting.
Uhm dude... I ownd FF7 for the PC... trust me it is *not* worth it... the game was just outright horrible on PC, glitchy as hell, bugged to the outer dimensions and the menu system was horrid (mostly because it ignored the fact that PC's have a little thing called a Mouse). I actually count that as one of the most disappointing purchases ever. That said.. if they actually fixed all those issues...then it'd be a pretty sweet game. Seriously, glitching or crashing out mid battle or on the world map, or on entering a town... not cool for an RPG game.
FF VII is not available in all regions. I find it odd I can't purchase the PC version in Canada from SQUARE. I'd rather see it on GOG and let them have my money.
you can still find ff7 and ff8 in stores if you are lucky, so I doubt this is gonna happen on gog
go to http://finalfantasyviipc.com/en and get it
dont bug GOG to put it up, when u can get it from SQUARE, I got it and it runs on Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit)
don't think it's gonna happen since square enix is already selling it
