Edna and Harvey: The Breakout
In Edna and Harvey: The Breakout, young Edna wakes up in the padded cell of an insane asylum with no memory of her past or how she ended up there. Only one thing is for certain: She has been wrongfully imprisoned and will have to escape! After all, she feels entirely sane – and her speaking stuffed toy bunny Harvey wholeheartedly agrees. Together they undertake a daring breakout attempt, meeting up with numerous oddball inmates, like the Man in the Bee’s Costume or Siamese twins Hoti and Moti. But Dr. Marcel, the sinister head of the institute, will do everything in his power to stop Edna. What evil scheme is afoot? Slowly, Edna begins to regain her memories of the past.
Edna and Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes
Lilli is the best-behaved little girl in the world. She executes all her chores in a diligent manner, no matter how unfair they may be. Her innocent, imperturbable way of carrying out the orders of others has something both tragic and eerie about it. Any angry thoughts, any childlike disobedience is buried deep beneath a seemingly impenetrable surface of sweetness. But how long will these feelings stay hidden? And where do the friendly little gnomes come from that paint over everything unpleasant in Lilli’s vicinity with a pleasant pink color? Are they real or just a product of her subconscious? Find out in Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes!
Edna and Harvey: The Breakout and Harvey’s New Eyes are point-and-click adventures that hark back to the good old days. Backgrounds and characters are completely 2D and drawn by hand. These colourful screenshots might make you think, this adventure is suitable for kids? Nope. It's not. The first half of "The Breakout" is light hearted. But then...
"New Eyes" goes completly off the rail. Adault humor, gruesome scenes, censorship goblins.
Oh no, I'm not drunk.
Some of the puzzles are pretty spaced, Manic Manson insanity. I play this genre since Monkey Islandread more 1 and I've got into a lot of the classics before.
The german voice acting is top notch, even though the sound quality can be flawed. Almost 90% of the storage, the game takes is for the speech files. Edna will comment on ANYTHING you try. Weird combinations - no standard sentences like "That's not working". You can spend hours, just to find some easter eggs by combining weird stuff. But Mustard on ALL THE THINGS! Write your name on ALL THE WALLS.
I am sure that a lot of the jokes won't work in english. Lost in translation. This happens to translated Adventure games in german language, too.
The animation is both games can be dodgy. But anything you see is handdrawn. And the music always matches the weird stuff that happens.
Give Daedalic a try. :D

Both Edna games are great, well-written adventures with nicely drawn graphics and much content for a budget-priced adventure.
However, I can not say anything about the English translation. Note that these games were originally German. The game propably loses a lot of its humor when translated to English.
Deutsche müssen auf jeden Fall zugreifen!!

The Edna & Harvey games are well drawn point and click adventures with alot humor. The game is drawn with much love and the charakters are all very... ehm.... cute and funny... :D
If you like the games Botanicula and Big and Tiny, then I'm sure you'll also love this game.
Maybe you think the game is a bit pricey, but remember: You get two games! The Breakout and Harvey's New Eyes.
Iread more can only write about the German version. I hope the translators did a good job.
