In any case: The game is NOT abandoned. To realize this you just need to follow the Kinky Fridays discord. In fact they just updated the game about a week ago.
I hate the fact that we have a few games here on GOG that don't get updated but I also hate it when we blame publishers like Kinky Fridays who actually DO update their games. I only posted this "review" to rectify this mistake. If GOG should remove this because it is not an actual review (which I am aware of) I hope that they will also remove deku_knight's false claim. It's only fair to the publisher and the devs.
My first review on GOG! I know 'who cares just tell me about the game'. Okay so here's Wet Nightmares as is at the time of this review. And no spoilers on top.
First this is a visual novel! For those who are virgins to VNs, they are video game like but more like books with lots of pictures but still a good amount of reading. It's cheap and fairly easy to produce these with free engines like Ren'py. Pretty sure this was made with that engine too. Thinking of making something with that too. So don't expect a Call Of Duty, Dark Souls or Fortnite here. This is for those who go, "I want to play a video game but...I feel Sans levels of lazy and just want to tap one button."
Game's meant to be cozy. Not your speed? move on.
But it's also a horror game with erotica on top. It is adults only with servicing level sex scenes. Even threw in deaths of...sorry no spoilers. But it does have a disturbing theme to it. Alone in the woods like Ash as a writer and rather manic. Your protag has issues. And the plot is he meets this...basically The Ring Girl in her late teens. But she is weirdly...yeah. Don't know what she is? Ghost Succubus?
Overall, the visual arts are decent anime style cartooning(hopefully hand drawn) and writing wise give it a B+(hoping not AI). Was dragging at the beginning for me. Someone had a writer's block clearly.
Running out of characters but this game barely has a few hours of story and only on erotic scene. Hardly complete more like demo. Like releasing movies before the movies are finished. Crazy right? Well if 8-10 whatever currency is too steep for a 'game' this WIP? Yeah I suggest wait for more content to finish production. There's not too much here of this review's posting.
But I gave it a 5 because did like what's done so far. Gets BDSM but switches sub and dom roles. It's mostly indirect femdom. Don't know what I mean there? Probably too young to buy this game. lol
That's my review of Wet Dr..Nightmares. Is that what kids call it these days?
Honestly not usually into these things but the art for this is drop dead gorgeous and the story stings yet is immensely captivating! I quite litteraly cannot sing it's praise enough but I hope this review helps it get some of the sales and popularity it deserves.
Title says it all. Problem is, the game isnt complete so were left at a major cliff hanger. Wait on buying this till its complete otherwise you might be a bit upset. That said the story is actually horror driven and fairly good so far. Found im reading it more for the story than the hentai, so hope to find it completed before end of 2025
Interesting premise/theme with decent writing-everything being shrouded in mystery caught my attention and the sexy parts got me even more interested. It does have horror elements without being super scary.Great artsyle and storytelling. The gameplay is fun for your typical point and click VN. Although short, it looks promising and can't wait till the other chapters come out!
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
