Hi all,

We have uploaded a new installer for Z that will update your game to version 1.1. Please download it at your earliest convenience in order to have the latest and greatest version :)

Changelog for version 1.1:

* Windows XP Support
* Swapped default actions of left and right mouse buttons (added
inverted option if you preferred them as they were).
* Made the minimap appear by default (tap the bottom right icon if you
don't see it).
* Fixed some issues with mouse responsiveness.
* Smoothed out and adjusted the auto-pan scrolling.

We also have a message from the devs:

"First of all, thanks for all your great feedback on Z – as developers, and massive fans of RTS games to boot, we’re never satisfied, so we welcome and relish the opportunity to make a good game even better. Great game play is our number one goal, and you can help us achieve it. It’s a great feeling knowing that we can answer some of your questions on the game, and more so when we solve a problem, so let us know how we can help, and we’ll do our very best to push out more updates. Thanks for playing."

Thanks and have a nice day! :)

Thanks GOG and Devs!
I'm grateful but any word on a possible ability to change resolution?
Thanks a lot! I knew that when I bought it at release that I just have to wait for this. :)
Just checked out this patch and it's very good. Minimap is good and you now drag select units with left-click instead of right. Overall interface still has the tablet-y feel but it's much better than the first version.

Doesn't seem to, they should add it though. Game seems to run in a fixed 720p resolution (or so it seems).

It would be nice but the changes made are still good and I don't want that to get lost in my moaning. GOG to their credit didn't screw around when some of the gripes came flying, they got on it.
Thank you Devs and GoG!

- A Volume slider also would be nice - different one for Music and SFX volume.
- Any chance that the painful unit path finding will be corrected?

Just checked it: scrolling speed now awfully slow, this is worse than it was previously.
A scroll speed slider also would be really-really nice.

Yay!
My feedback on the patch:

Buttons are fine now.
Responsiveness improved.
Scrolling feels better but is WAY to slow. We definitely need a slider.
it's alive, IT'S ALIVE*!.....
THX Guys!

*on my XP
Why didnt they fix the unit portraits as well? Seems like a minor fix.

Awesome, multiplayer would make the game even better for sure. :)
As a start, this is a nice update, but there are still quite a few things that need to be changed:
- Get rid of the ugly mobile interface
- Implement scrolling with cursor and/or WASD keys

And as others have already mentioned, the scroll speed is far too slow now (you can scroll faster by dragging the map with the right mouse button, but that's not ideal either), there are no resolution options, and no multiplayer.
It finally runs on XP, but plays really weird for me. I cannot click properly on any of the menu bars or the units themselves. I have to randomly click a little above the bars or units to select them. I've tried reversing the controls, but that didn't help much either.

Thanks for the (remarkably quick) effort.

Particularly the interface changes are very much appreciated :-). (However, it would be nice if you could also add the switch-back-to-the-last-active-unit feature (right click).)

The AI still falls a bit short of Z and Z95 (Antares WInXP Installer under Win8.1 (requires windowed mode! - I use the the Meeky hires mod...)). Take level 1 for example and tell your grunts above your HQ to take the sector above the wall of rocks - instead of taking the grenades and blasting their way through said wall of rocks they tried to go all the way round (on hard)!

One bug I noticed was that if you press the right mouse button to accelerate scrolling, scrolling suddenly works in the opposite direction - if you want to scroll to the left while keeping the right mouse button pressed you actually have to move your mouse to the right (and vice versa...)! Otherwise normal scrolling speed is a bit on the slow side. And it would be nice if units could remain active after giving them an order.
