Hi all,

We've uploaded the latest patch (1.59) and also updated the main installer for Xenonauts. Please download either the patch or installer at your earliest convenience in order to get the latest and greatest version of the game :)

Changelog for version 1.59:

Dev quote:

V1.59 is the revised version of V1.58, which we rolled back a week or so ago because we were concerned about stability issues. V1.58 included several fixes over V1.56, the biggest of which was a fix for an annoying AI hang.

v1.58 Changelog:
- Another fix to an AI hang with the Reapers
- Alien base missions should now always load correctly on the Linux version of the game
- Fixed an occasional crash related to the Fury interceptor destroying a UFO with escorts

Thanks and have a nice day :)
Hurray !! Finally ! :D
Hello,

Thank you for this update.

Thank you also for monitoring and testing the new versions, before deployment.
Waiting a little is better than having stability issues.
Thanks very much!

Does this mean that the Linux version will come to GOG soon?

I don't know, I am copying the changelog as I see it :) I hope it does come around, though :)

Absolutely! I'm SO happy to see these improvements in the patching options! Keep it up, GOG :)

I asked the dev, a long time ago, why the linux version wasn't on GOG, and they told me it was too expensive to support, and dropped it. It was so long ago, though maybe they can support it now?

Finally the update on GOG . Thanks :)
I am happy to see the GOG version getting the proper update treatment from the developers.

The last time i was paying this game, it was at version 1.09.

It seems that i cannot just update the old version anymore but instead need to reinstall the game with the latest files.

Now the only question that is relevant to my interests is: will my save games from version 1.09 work with the latest version. And how to backup them? Just a copy and paste job with the "Documents/Xenonauts" folder, right?

Or do i need to keep the updated "gameconfig.xml" file?

Confirmation that saves are not affected by the latest updates would help me much as i dont want to start my game all over again.
So, I don't need to download/install the 1.54 patch? Since 1.54 and 1.59 are both in the list of downloads I'm wondering if I need both patches. And if so, why?

You only need to download the main installer : it is already up to date at version 1.59 (and so, you don't need this two patches). The installer shows GOG's version number 2.2.0.12.
Patch to update to v1.54 has GOG's version number 2.1.1.11 so it is outdated. It was for people who installed the game with an oldest installer.
Patch to update to v1.59 has GOG's version number 2.2.0.12, the same as the GOG's installer version number : so it means the installer already includes it. This patch is for people who where on v1.54.

Thank you for the explanation. This helps a lot.
