I just bought and downloaded this game on GoG today, and the loading times are just insane.

Simply dying means having to wait minutes. The last time it happened, I counted over 3 minutes and decided to force-quit the game.
Playing this game on Über difficulty isn't going to be fun if I'm going to spend over 3 minutes waiting every time I die...

I doubt it's my specs, since my PC is fairly high-end.

CPU: i9 9900k
RAM: 32 GB
GPU: RTX 2080 Ti
Storage: 2 x M.2 SSD (RAID 0)
OS: Windows 10 Pro

I don't remember the game taking this long to load on my PS4 500 GB HDD, so I don't understand why it takes so much longer to load on my PC. Even Windows takes no longer than 20 seconds to cold boot, and that's including the time it takes my motherboard to POST (Power-on self-test).

Any ideas what could be the cause, or how to fix it?

It's something security based problem, I guess. Windows or antivirus scanning every loading file.
Try to add game folder to exceptions in that programs.
I have M2 (PCIe x4) SSD specially for games. So I added whole this drive to exceptions. Loading 8-12 sec.

Have the same issue.
And if i click whenever on screen before the loading screen; it hang.
Then windows ask me if I want to shut down the game.
Hey,
May you try setting a fixed texture cache?

www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Wolfenstein:_The_New_Order#Restore_cache_files
"The texture cache folder is not made by the game so the cache is regenerated for each session"

So, um... how do you add the game folder -- or just the whole darn GOG folder -- to the exceptions (Win10)?

I have the same problem. When the game wants to load the videos between sections, I get the symbol for loading/saving (a short animation and than it stops) and the whole game freezes. I have to open Task Manager to "End Process" (game not responding).

It is a bit annoying, since when I resume, the checkpoint comes in but I don't know what happened, no video or whatever there should be.

Windows 10 build 1909.
Experiencing the same issue. Applied the cache fix, unfortunately that had no effect. I'm on Windows 10 with an SSD.

Yup, exactly the same. I can't see cinematics, but not always because sometimes it loads after waiting a bit after the loading icon has stopped the animation. For the rest that don't load i also have to end the process from the task manager.

I also have the game on Steam and i did not have this problems before and could end the game seeing all the cinematics (and i have not changed my hardware)

I will try the cache fix but i don't think that will affect loading a cinematic.
I had another idea, to try to run the game as administrator:
https://www.itechtics.com/run-programs-administrator/

For now it works. Somehow. I am at the section, where you need to choose between your two companions, whom the crazy nazi doctor will kill. The cinematics did load, so maybe this is it.

But will have to progress further to say, if this fixes the problem.

The loading times are ... lengty.
I have only a standard SATA SSD, but sometimes it takes about a minute, that it loads a cutscene/section.

Medium graphics setting/V-Sync Off/1080p.
Ryzen R7 2700, 32 GB 2666 MHz RAM, Geforce 1030 GT 2 GB GDDR5, Win 10 64-bit latest build (1909).
I have tried the cache fix, running as admin, using windowed fullscreen, v-sync on and off...nothing. Sometimes it loads, sometimes not. It's not a question of compatibility also, OS has nothing to do with all of this.

Loading times are eternal, and when i die the screen freezes as well and, again, sometimes loads and sometimes it keeps freezed forever and have to end the process.

Last time i finished this game was back in 2018 in Steam and i have none of this problems. I remeber being able to finish the game seeing all cinematics and i never got any of those freezing issues.

I play in a HDD, but exactly the same as back in 2018 because nothing has changed in my PC since then so i don't understand why suddenly i have all this problems, even if are well known issues.

I am also trying changing some graphics options but, again, i played this game 2 years ago and was running very well...i even remember playing in 2K and i have now trying at 1080 just in case.

0 ideas at this point :(
OK, I was too fast... now I am at the section, where you need to go on the roof of a bus, to go to a prison camp, I finished it and when the animation/cutscene needs to loads the next section/level: bam! It's frozen. Again. I tried to wait 10 minutes but no, it's stuck.

Also process viewer (Control+Shift+Esc) shows WolfNewOrder_x64.exe not responding.

:(
OK, this was just a test. I died again, the screen/picture frozes and it seems that it tries to load the checkpoint.

The interesting thing is when I look at Task Manager/Process viewer...
it slowly eats up all the free memory. I have 32 GB of RAM and I am over 24 GB+ right now.

I have taken a screenshot (attached).

So all stuttering and long loads of this game (and also of The Old Blood) are caused by a problem with RAM of system? (i have 16gb)
