vulchor: Thank you, that's what we wanted to know. Best of luck, this game is looking awesome, definitely the best looking ARPG around currently.

huan: Agreed, thanks to the dev, even if I bought it even before knowing the planned release. And thanks to Gydion for finally overcoming the language barrier :)

Not sure if it is BEST looking, Grim Dawn looks very nice too and there is a lot of thought in building the world. But it is definitely at the top. And the apocalyptic mutations could add something fresh to the genre.
Even if the mutations end up being a bit gimmicky with not too much effect on overall gameplay, I still think its a cool idea. I loved that in Fable (especially Fable 2) your character changes his look drastically based on your choices. I thought it was a shame no other games followed suit, but this kind of reminds me of that, even though there hasn't been much info released yet on the mechanic, I'm definitely interested to see the evolution of it unfold in development. I'll probably buy it as soon as that gets added in.

B0SC0: Why decide to join games in development on GOG?

We plan to have a rich, dense and large game, including a lot of replayable content. It is important for us to test these features in real situation, and get feedbacks. Wolcen is a project started a long time ago, driven by passion an we want to create the best gameplay experience possible. We are attached to our project, and are very experienced using the CRYENGINE technology.
The Early Access will also be a great way for us to remains a completely indie team. There is no private investor or publisher behind us, and we want to continue that way to keep a full control on the creative work we do. We want to take risk, bring some new features to the hack and slash genre and discuss with players about the best solution for our game.

Approximately how long will this game be in early access?
You can expect at least 5 hours of non-repetitive gameplay at day 1, and of course, we plan to update the game at least every two weeks.
Since our game includes various way to develop your character, it will allow you to replay the game and randomly generated dungeon using various play style, such as brutal force, vicious strike, fire, frost and lightning magic.
Of course, you can combine any of these skills to customize your build. The fact that elements reacts with each other (fire, lightning, water and ice) also brings a lot of interesting and deep gameplay mechanisms for you to discover.

What do you plan to change during development?
The final version of the game will be available on PC and Linux. It will include the following features:
• Full Coop gameplay.
• Apocalyptic Forms, allowing you to unlock mutation for your character according to your playstyle. Mix up to three of these mutation and shape-shift into that avatar of destruction to destroy your foes!
• Ability to create a dungeon thanks to our housing system, and include enemies captured in the open world for other player to challenge.
• A lot of destroyable environments
• Unlimited randomly generated dungeons, with increasing difficulties each steps!
• Epic boss Fights
• Large open world to explore
• An epic and mysterious story to discover
• Modding support
• Gamepad support

What is the current state of your game?
The current state of the game aims to test the very basics of the gameplay.
You will be able to test the first mission of the storyline, and then fight in randomly generated dungeons, with and increasing difficulty each time to clean a level.
More than 20 skills are available right now, including combos.
Element from skills and environment interact with each other: Lightning spread in water, a frozen target will unfreeze once hit by Fire, and physical attacks deals more damage against frozen enemies !
Beautiful visual effects are triggered by your attacks, bringing an epic feeling to the game!
A lot of content are still using placeholders, and the sound quality is a bit poor, we are aware of that and it will be updated and upgraded really soon!

Will the price change on release day?
We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. The final price of the game should be about twice the current amount, so it is time to grab copy now!

How can the community participate in the development process?
The community will be involved thanks to a Trello and various polls on our forums. Mostly you will be able to give your opinion about the priority features to come, balance of the game and gameplay mechanics.
If you have any cool ideas new enemies, items or apocalyptic forms, we will gladly read about it on our forum!
This looks quite promising. I have my faith in this game. So Updates ever 2 Weeks. So I assume quite few people have submitted BUG reports for you to have look and filtrate what need's to be patched ASAP and what can be left for later. Also wanted to mention Whilst playing for few hours i noticed few things that are quite unpleasant. Anyway I hope that this goes far. Good Luck
Would it be possible you also post the changelogs on GoG forum ?
At this time, we need to check either Steam either umbragame.com to get these informations.

Thanks :-)

It's available both in Galaxy (current version number is clickable and opens window with changelog) and in online library (hidden under "more" button).

I don't use Galaxy for any other games and don't plan on purchasing Wolcen - Lords of Mayhem until I see a more finished state. Checking what game version is available on GOG.com VS what is mentioned on the Wolcen Studio pages would be the only way for me to know which version you are currently offering.
I don't see any "more" option on the game's page here. So you need to offer the current game version on your GOG.com Wolcen page's game description.

You are right, you can only see changelog after buying it. And I don't think you can see game version without buying it either... It's not too good policy, but there is very little game developers could do about it - that's gog's responsibility. The data is all there, it's just a question of making it available to nonowners.

On the other hand, I can see why it has low priority - if you want to just follow news without intention of buying in the near future, you can do so on the dev web where it's supposed to be most fresh.
why the steam patch 4 days earlier as the gog patch?

Dear Wolcen Team,

I know it is a lot of work to make Patches appear on more than one Plattform on time, but is it possible to give us a schedule how much later will arrive on gog? Because for me it is not problem to wait for a week, if i know that it will take that long :-) But not knowing is bad! Just a quick heads up would be awesome!

Keep up the good work on your game, keep improving it - i sure as hell llike it. But do send a message here in the gog forums on patch dates please.

Thank you very much,

CaptN3mo O7
Update 0.3.7 has been deployed ! On steam !
GOG 0.3.5 WTF

We pay the same price here, I regret my purchase ! GOG services do not have a requirement for updates ?

Looks like GoG's version of the Game will only get the polished updates, but why is the delay that huge, today we got the 0.4.3 update but still, the prior one was 0.3.7 also march the 2nd. They should really explain that... Somehow i heard it's the fault of gog's devs, because they need to test these Patches first or it's even possible that they simply forget to activate certain patches... But unfortunately, the gog-dev Team did not answer this topic so far...

I love GOG but I will never use them for Early Access ever again. If I could get a refund I probably would because at this point it's just a joke.

I don't really care whose fault it is. I don't care if it's the Wolcen team who are slow or if it's GOG slow to push, and why should I? I'm a paying customer, I paid for a game that was promised regular updates only to see the Steam copy get those regular updates and the GOG one get nothing.

But you want to know what the real slap in the face is? I can pirate the latest copy right now. Let that sink for a minute.

I can pirate the latest version of Wolcen, 0.4.0 hotfix 1, right now.

This isn't something customers should ever have to worry about.

Not strictly correct, you can check the forums even if you haven't bought the game. Every "in dev" game I have checked so far had a changelog thread in the forum. The delay for wolcen updates seems to be 1-2 weeks compared to steam. It would be nice if the reason for this were communicated.

You are right, and in every "in dev" game that is a community effort, not something guaranteed. Gog could make the same data available easily.

@huan: So that means, the delay is gog´s fault?
