So, I'm nearing the end of Wizardry 8. But I've run into a problem. Namely, after rescuing Drazic and Rodan and clearing the Rapax Away Camp, I teleported to Marten's Bluff to speak with Z'Ant about the alliance... but he accused me of being a spy for the Umpani and attacked. I worked both for the T'Rang and the Umpani, doing all their missions apart from the final ones. I also paid He'Li for her silence and turned in Sergeant Kunar. So why does Z'Ant attack me? For the record, General Yamir doesn't - when I tried going to meet him first, everything went fine and he sent me to talk to Z'Ant. Unfortunately, when I did, the same thing happened. Is it a bug, or did I do something wrong by accident?

Yeah, that happens sometimes, even if you take all the right steps. What you need is to distract him with something else so that he doesn't get the chance to accuse you. Try giving him the Chaos Moliri again – select it in your inventory and give him the item directly, without speaking to him first by initiating dialogue in the normal way. You should get a reply in which he thanks you again or something, and then the dialogue with Drazic will kick in. Or try giving him some other item. It works better at the end of the mission where you have to retrieve the Chaos Moliri, but this might work too. Try it out and post here if you were successful. If not, we'll think of something else.
It worked... sort of. When I give him the Chaos Moliri, he doesn't attack, but the dialogue with Drazic doesn't trigger either. However, it gave me an idea to just hand him the peace offer from Yamir. It triggers the dialogue in which he accepts the alliance, so that's good. If I speak to him again, he attacks, though - I'm not sure if it's a problem.
Can you type anything in the question box after giving him the item? If yes, try typing something related to your current quest. That might trigger the correct dialogue.
I tried typing "Umpani", "Alliance" and "Drazic" into the box after giving him the Chaos Moliri, but it didn't work. Giving him anything else makes him attack.

Although, like I said, giving him the peace offer makes him agree and give me the tracker as well as a letter to Yamir. But I'm not sure if it solves the problem, since he'll still attack me if I try to talk to him later.
The tracker is all you need! Now go to the missile launcher on the peak of Mt Gigas and complete the mission. You should get tons of XP.
I see. Z'Ant tells me to go talk to him on the Ascension Peak, though. Won't he attack me when I do it? Or is it not necessary?

the solution requires some effort,
in case you dont get the injection working or prefer an easier approach in general, let me know,
i will upld a script for Tantris, but as you may already have heard from Heli: "It will cost you!" ;)

Uh... I don't think it can help. My problem isn't that Z'Ant is gone, the problem is that he accuses me of working with the Umpani and attacks despite the steps I took to hide it.
think i included at least an increase of faction rating in the fix above,
however you find the real thing here: https[colon]//www.dropbox.com/s/m9x1txw0v51hyqt/trang_hostility_fix.zip

Unpack the archive into your wiz8 install, incl the folder structure,
it will not interfere witn an unmodded Wiz8 original install (dunno about the one from gog)

As i wrote it will cost you, meaning you will have to make a suitable present to Tantris.

I unpacked the .zip, but nothing changed. Z'Ant still attacks. I don't see anything about the hostility in the post you linked. I'll just go with giving him the peace offer straight away, but I'm worried there might be problems if I have to talk to him again later.
You got reported by the spy and there is no fix apart from the one you have done... they don't go up the hill any way so don't worry about it.
Hitting Z'ant with the alliance letter from Yamir is the best approach (and Yamir never randomly discovers the double agent status AFAIK).

Z'ant (and Yamir) will not appear on Ascension Peak, since that part of the plot was cut due to time/budget constraints, so once you've secured the alliance and shot down the Savant's ship, you're done with both of them.
I see. That's what I'll do, then. Thanks for the help, everyone. :)
It's a pity they did not finish plot at Ascension Peak, the first time I played through the game I expected some great battle against Savant Robots and Rapax soldiers, but this zone was almost empty...

I also found bug some time ago, when I was training in Mt. Gigas with Kunar(?) and he suddenly disappeared at one part.
