It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

The line in the [AUTOEXEC] field should be priv.exe r, not -r. I made that mistake too.

Finally got it to work, also made 2 Shortcuts one for the normal game and one for RF.

Thank you all for your help.

Now back to grinding for upgrades.

You need to change the file extension from .ISO to .GOG. To do this you will need to have file extensions visible.

If you aren't sure how to enable file extensions refer to this page.

Once you make that change you will see the .ISO part at the end of the file name; rename the file, changing that part to .GOG. You can then turn extensions off again if you wish.
Got it. May want to add that to the steps :) At first it still wasnt loading till I went back and saw that the RF.CFG said RF.CFG.TXT just deleted the .txt and got it. Thanks for the help ;)
I screwed up several times trying to make sure everything was set up right, but I finally got it working. Thanks TPR!
Would something similar work for getting Spec Ops 1 and 2 for WC2 off of the CD (not the WC Saga version)?

Vagabond: The game's files are in GAME.GOG. Looks like all it takes is putting rf.exe and rf.tre into there and editing the config a bit. Not too difficult.

TPR: HA! It works! :-D

How to add "Righteous Fire" to the game:
1) make sure you have original CD version with RF expansion ;-)
(I've bought mine full CD version in 1997 for c.a. 10 USD),
2) copy files "INITRF.PAK", "RF.CFG", "RF.TRE" to GOG's folder with the game,
3) edit "RF.CFG" - change string to "=D:rf.tre"
4) edit "dosboxPRIV.conf" - at "[autoexec]" section change "priv.exe" to "priv.exe r" (without quotas, of course)
5) unpack "GAME.GOG" file to separate folder (e.g. GAME),
6) copy RF.TRE file to this new folder (from step "5"),
7) make ISO file (name it "GAME.GOG") which will include all files from step "6"; add just files only, without folder,
6) copy this file to GOG's folder with the game,
8) run the game using shortcut on desktop - it will start RF campaign.

If you have SAV file from main campaign you can use it (even if you didn't finish it).

Enjoy! :-D

PS. My tools:
- Total Commander,
- Notepad2,
- 7Zip,
- ImgBurn.

PPS. Hey, GOG guys! Don't delete or censor this topic, please...
I have the 1994 version of Privateer and would very much like the Righteous Fire expansion, where can I download one?

I hope it'll be possible to download RF expansion from GOG really soon... but it looks THEY forgot about their promise. If you want it badly then buy box version. Don't ask for pirated soft here, please.

I appologise TPR, I can wait until GOG releases the expansion. Until then I have many other games to play.
Okay, just to make sure I did this correctly.

Righteous Fire starts with a cut-scene of a talking robot telling you that a canon from your ship has been stolen, yeah?

Just doesn't say "Righteous Fire" anywhere on the main screen.

I know how you feel. Following the directions was a bit tricky for a novice like me.
