So how do you go into DX9 mode if you have a GOG copy of the game?

Also to Devs; please post your advice on GOG too as some of us can`t even go onto Steam since the bad old days when Steam would bann any criticising it (me over 5 years ago).

Edit the properties of the shortcut and add -force-d3d9 to the shortcut target.

I attached a screen grab with how it should look.

-force-d3d12

...also is working.

Should still get the DX11 effects and it hasn't crashed it on me yet.

The experimental Unity engine flag works for Satellite Reign also.

You need Windows 10 and a DX11 card + drivers to benefit.

Negatives? FPS seems slightly more sluggish over DX11.

Thankyou! :)
Update:
Well I`m glad to say playing in Direct X9 has solved the problem. To be honest I`ve not seen much of a difference to previous. It still looks and plays very well- No stutter at all on my end. Finally nice to sit in the inventory meticulously sorting each person`s kit without a crash to waste my time.

Only strange quirk is that I get a dog `yelp` sound every time the game is loading up, even though a dog is never there! :P

I get the dog yelp on loading as well and I wonder if it isn't intentional, sort of like the zombie screams when loading a game in Doom. I didn't have to use the force command though.
