ttanc911: I don’t believe there is a toxicity involved. In fact I play all 3 servers and I have fun in all of them. Before battle net was around I played on kali, then bnet, then 24-7, then RU. One thing I note is that RU was created when bnet was failing (it saved Warcraft 2).

I enjoy all communities, I am a young dad and I just play to have fun. Doesn’t matter the server. Each has their aspect and strength, battle net is perfect for new players to play each other and even returning vets to sharpen skills. rU and usa accept all kinds of players but are generally played by intermediate:pro players.

Doesn’t have to be a bad thing, thibk of any server as a win for Warcraft 2

Lancelight: Good luck with that, I hope it's Tupac doing this. If you really tick him off, you'll be lucky to have a server to play on at all lol. I'd just leave him be and let him alert people of the much superior version of War2. GoG gains nothing from people playing on the server anyway. It's actually a service to GoG imo that they dont even need to spend a dime to support and the end result is a better experience for the player. Now, if it were a SUBSCRIPTION based thing, then I could see your point. Other than that, I find nothing wrong with people telling others about a better place to play the game they just bought.

An even better idea would be for GoG to simply combine forces with the RU community rather than going at it as two different entities. We have a lot more experience in modding war2 than they do both on the client level AND the server level. I could only imagine the cool stuff we could do if the sourcecode were to be released. I dont think they have access to the source anyway but maybe thats a possibility they could work out with Blizzard.
