It can feel kind of bad to have to be blunt about it, but sometimes that's what works. But it might work. Sometimes it's that or nothing.
My guess is that the reason they're silent on the matter is that they don't want to be in the situation of speaking too soon, especially with the delays they had to implement in order to wrangle the bugs that complicated things further...

Plus if you think about it, we will be getting the game as a much more polished version than those who got it early on steam, as there have been rumblings of bugs infesting people's games!

A reply on their website to one of my pokes.

Yes, we acknowledge the… situation, but it’s a process between two parties (on our developers’ end and of GOG), and therefore we can’t really make a definitive statement on behalf of both, if there’s still something to be worked out on either side… it’s confusing, yes, but rest assured, both we and GOG are working on it, to make it happen as soon as it’s possible.
This is probably the best we're going to get for a while, but it does clear up some things. Seems like they're dealing with contract and distribution issues, so the delay makes a whole lot more sense than simply being about bugs in the game. Thoughts?

Could be Galaxy crap instead.
Anyone hear anything recently about it arriving on gog? -_- No news is good news right?

Yup, sounds like Galaxy crap. Maybe an achievement doesn't trigger correctly or something similar ... important :/
One more update from our friends from Neocore.

I had asked specifically what was holding them up, be it distribution, GOG issues, whatever, we just wanted to know. This was the reply I got.
We can’t communicate this for reasons beyond human understanding (I tried to understand it, believe me). What I might say is: not much longer. We now have got a release date, but it’s unofficial, so I can’t communicate that either. But soon. I get the frustration, but… soon.
I guess I'll just have to go back to being patient. I think I'm getting to the point where I'm worried that the wait staff will spit in my food, if you know what I mean.
So basically, we the gog members have to suffer. Why does steam get it like way before us. -_-

I sent a message asking GOG if they'd be able to tell us anything. With any luck they can, and with no luck, we'll be in the same place, so no ground lost at least.
When we didn't get the release at the same time as Steam, I bought Pillars of Eternity (50% off). Helps pass the time waiting...and waiting...and waiting
Trying to be patient...

Well, they've announced it for the Xbox One. Okay, cool, great. Still not a peep about GOG. I'm really getting kind of angry that they won't even give us a formal post at this point. The only thing we get is replies in the comments of those announcements. I've emailed both GOG support regarding upcoming releases and to Neocore support for the same reason, and I have yet to get a response.

I've also been asking them whether if we ask for a Steam key with our GOG receipts if we are still eligible to get our free GOG copy, or if we have to pick one or the other. Again, despite me asking 3 times, they haven't answered me. I'm scratching my head as to how they think this is a proper way to treat customers. Ignoring us is just going to push us further and further away.

Sorry to gripe so much, I'm just kind of fed up with all of this.

Thanks for keeping us updated on the responses, or lack thereof from Neocore. That's kind of nuts that they posted a release date for Xbox One. Its coming out December 1st too. Although it looks like it is the first one and not the final cut. I guess Neocore will release them over time and then give them the final cut afterwards. Xbox One will still probably get the final cut before we do at this rate.
We're used to getting things late. The difference this time is that the bundle deal made it really attractive to get VH1-3 early with the understanding that we had actually bought Final Cut 50% off in the process. If it weren't for the bundle, we could've just waited for the launch whenever they felt like it, and paid 50% off at launch without this dead period where we paid $20-$25 for an October release and got nothing (not even communication) with November mostly over. It's nice having the trilogy, but they dug a hole for themselves trying to do too much and since then, they've dishonored themselves with silence.

I'm not raging or anything. I have a life and stuff to do and all that. But it's kind of disappointing, and the non-communication and inability to own their blunders are troubling and unhealthy signs for a developer I otherwise want to like.

I emailed support at GOG about the release and this is the response I got.

"Hello

I'm afraid that I can't comment on any upcoming deals and releases (or lack thereof). I can only assure you that we're doing everything possible to get our hands on the best content possible.

Unfortunately the process can be very complicated. There are many variables to take into account when trying to secure distribution rights from a publisher or developer, and it's not always possible to come to a compromise that satisfies all . This is especially true for GOG, as we want to uphold our core values (like no copy protection, or fair pricing), which do not always fit well into how the industry generally works. It gets even more complex with old content, esepecially games, whose rights are often in a state of “legal limbo”.

Check out this Q/A video, featuring one of my superiors - Marcin Iwinski, for a first-hand view of how it works:

Also, I strongly suggest checking out Community Wishlist - while this won't make us get rights for these titles all of a sudden, every vote counts! :)

Finally, please stay tuned and check out our news page every week for new release info.

So GOG doesn't want to give any actual information, and Neocore is dragging it's feet as well.
