So what are the restored disciplines in the Plus version of the patch? Would anyone even recommend playing the Plus version on a first time playthrough?

Edit: Forgot to mark as a question and can't edit that part of the topic. -_-

I don’t remember, but I think they are listed in a readme coming with the download of the mod ;P

No, you should play with only the bugfixes first if you want to enjoy the original game.
The restored content is good when you already know the game and you want to expand it for a new replay ;)

The game has plenty enough content for a first playthrough. Sure, it is rough, but there is still a lot to see and do in the game. The Plus version takes some creative license by moving items and rewards around, adding fan made missing dialogue options to half finished quests and so on. Some of it is substantial, but a lot of it is just minor details that doesn't really change the experience much, like having a fifth option how to solve a quest with the press of a button as if the four other similar options that were already in the game to begin with weren't enough.

From the patch readme:
+ Bloodheal discipline.
+ Blood Theft discipline.
+ Voice of Bedlam discipline.
+ Command and Sleep disciplines.
+ Active discipline cast animations.
+ New discipline available from Beckett.
+ Presence low level options in dialogue.
+ Tremere first level Domination in dialogue.

Can you tell me how to remove the cast animations please.
I find that by the time I have cast and waited out the animation I am losing a good potion of the duration to attack.

Which of course was one of the intentions of restoring the casting in the first place ;). As for removing it, open config.cfg with any text editor and replace "vm_discipline" with "vdiscipline_last".

I did that and it didn't do anything. It also kept changing back to vm_discipline, afterwards I set it to read only and the animations were still in place.

Also tried switching any trace of vm_discipline in the default.cfg and no avail.
Also tried deleting the "casting animations" section from users.cfg, still nothing.

Please help what can I do to make the animations stop in my game, I understand why they're in place, I wish there was an option separate of the discipline changes in the installation of the plus patch, I like the discipline changes for the most part but I didn't want to sign up for the casting animations, but they come packaged. pls help wesp, it's killing my gameplay experience..

I have another possible solution. Open vamputil.py with any text editor and search vor VM(). Then delete the first line where you find it...

I tried it, didn't do anything.
2 entries of VM() found, one was just the line, and the other was "def VM()"

tried deleting both, still nothing

That can't really be. A you sure you are editing the correct files?
This is it right?

currently have config.cfg mouse 2 set to "vdiscipline_last" as instructed.

Also have the default.cfg both lines changed from vm_discipline to vdiscipline_last

I tried every combination, nothing changes

If you remove the VM() in the Python file you need to keep the original cfg files. Also better delete vamputil.py just to make sure it get's recompiled!

I just reinstalled the patch, to make sure that the default cfg files were in place. tried both solutions. Nothing worked :/

Are these changes being saved? Are you using Galaxy? It can/will revert the files depending on your settings.
