Just installed this game after dying to play it again for ages.
Ran first time just fine at default settings.
Turned up all settings to maximum and now the game wont load. I've tried editing the resolution in the ini back to something smaller (from 1920x1080 or whatever 1080 widescreen res is), but theres way too much stuff to sift through.
Anyone know of or had this problem before and can enlighten me? it's no problem to just reinstall so i have default values, but it'd be nice to play this on full detail
edit: reinstalled the game and it ran fine first time. I went into the game options and changed the resolution to 1920x1080x32bit and saved. After that i quit out and restarted the game, only to have it crash again.
I reverted the ini to a default settings ini (i made it by loading up the game, and quitting out immediately, then saving the ini that came up), and the game crashed once again.
It is most definitely a setting in the masquerade.ini file or the file its self, since the game runs fine AFTER i delete it.
edit2:
I've narrowed it down to the resolution entries in the [render] section of masquerade.ini
namely
screenWidth=640
screenHeight=480
screenDepth=16
it doesnt seem to work on anything other than 640x480x16. Kinda bites, because its a great game.
I guess unless anyone knows how to fix it, thats this thread over. Sorry folks.
Edit3: a fix! (of sorts)
I admit i jumped to conclusions on this one before fully testing it.
If you keep the screendepth to 16, you can change the resolution to anything, and it will still take. Just dont switch it to 32 and you can enjoy it on max setting. This goes for both setting the in game display options AND editing the ini.
Hopefully that helps other people having this problem.
