In 1.2 vanilla, having high persuasion, you got Johansen to reveal to you who tipped him to "discover" the sarcophagus. Not only for game's story, but also for some extra XP.

In GOG's version of the game, the dialogue never gives you that option. Tried with 10 persuasion (had lots of spare extra points reserved, then loaded game).

Also, something is off with random lines and dialogues with multiple NPCs, over the course of the entire game. There is certainly something different to vanilla version. Even with launching the "Legacy" shortcut.

You can still do that but you need Inspection and not Persuasion. Exactly like in the original game...

Can you explain that?
You need Inspection 5 to obtain information. Absolutely useless skill though.

There are many subtle dialogue variations in the game depending on your current Humanity level, gender, choices, clan and story branches. The upper class man in Santa Monica for example has at least two initial reactions to your character, either telling you he is waiting for a tow truck, or he may start off immediately nervous making up a lie about waiting for his friend who is a police officer and a former army buddy. There are many variations like this that may not be readily apparent without several different kinds of playthroughs.

You are right, ha ha, that man can be persuaded by a female to give money, while a male never persuades him. And he can be intimidated. Or seduced. But once seduced, you can only drink blood, no money... Even gender plays role in this game!
