I just found out that there is a rank given when you be the game. I read about the time limit and other objectives that are counted as well. My question is have the updates and patches changed this in any way? I can not seem to find a definite answer online. Thanks in advance

Yes, there are more villagers to save in later patches, so your % saved won't be right if you update mid game, also there are occasionally new crew members.
