Ultima 7 is best played with Exult! :)
But please post questions on Exult in Exult's discussion page on Github you will get better answers there than here.
I'm posting this because I noticed several questions on exult and it is easier for me to help on our forum.

One note, though, for GOG users, we haven't made any effort to find the GOG installations automatically since GOG changes the location of the games *ALL* the time (well, a couple of times now and we don't want to hardcode several paths in Exult).

@Moderator, could you make this a sticky topic?

I found it kind of hard to install Exult. Does the all in one package install everything I need, or do I have to install the Exult .exe and then install the all in one package?
Exult and then the all in one AUDIO package. it's just for the digital music and sound effects.
Ultima 7 on GOG Galaxy is launched only with DOSBOX, but I want to launch Exult on GOG Galaxy for the comfortability and recording played-times. What should I do for it?

Honestly, no idea if you can add anything none GOG to the launcher.

last time I tried Exult the sound and music would cut out after a short time. they use something quite different than the original GS format and I prefer SBPro anyway oddly enough. funky but sharper toned.
.... of course, the lat time I tried Exult was 2003. I just now downloaded the latest edition and the sound files and the music just blows me away! Especially the track that plays at the entrance ot Castle Fire! they did a great job patching up the old blotch job. even added custom options for sound and graphics. I chose default sound thuogh they fixed it from when I played! the game looks and runs and eveyting in the background including NPCs do what they are supposed to and dont' run off and hide. there is only one little problem. when the Avatar walks he skips and it is stuttery and like he is crippled or has a limp. very slow and ponderous on my machine. I am using a Dell though and it is a 32 bit with only 4 GB ram but I am using a separate video card, Ati Radeon. 3450

You could try setting fps to 10 in http://exult.sourceforge.net/docs.php#gameplay_gump
OR edit the cfg and set fps to something insanely high :) (though I'd advise against it)
First time trying Ultima 7. Found this thread but yeah, where and how do I install Exult on Windows 10 64bit?! The web site is a mess. I get an error, when using the Win32 snapshot (Exultwin32.exe) => "Cannot Import XYZ/exconfig.dll" ...

What shall I do?

Seriously?

The error shouldn't be here, I'll contact the snapshot maintainer...

Please redownload the snapshot. When that error appears something has gone wrong with the download. Just now I completed an installation of it on a Windows 10 64bit installation.

Installed Exult but I'm having a bear of a time getting it to work. The current message reads that the Static folder is not found for either the Black Gate or Serpent Isles. Shame because I'm eager to try out my favorite RPG ever with a fresh coat of paint.
For a fast answer, you should post any problems on the Exult forum.
I'm guessing that you didn't give Exult the correct paths to your Ultima games, but Dominus (or some of the other guys) on the Exult forum likely knows for sure what's up.
yup, exactly that :)

Im not sure if I should post here or elsewhere (I tried the link in the original post but it doesnt appear to be active anymore), but Im playing the Exult version of Ultima VII (also have Forge of Virtue add on installed). Ive gotten to the point in the game where Im exiting Britain to the West (so pretty early I would imagine) and when I encounter the brigands there and enter combat mode, the game is crashing on me.

Ive tried various things like entering combat by pressing 'c', clicking on the dove/sword icon, starting combat before I reach them, as well as various exult combat settings (show hits, varying difficulty) but nothing seems to change the result of the game crashing.

I also tried changing the video screen size but that does not appear to have helped either.

If anyone has any thoughts or information on this please let me know.

***As a quick follow-up, I was using v1.8 of Exult and installed 1.9 which seems to have resolved the issue. Hopefully its all good from here***
