yoginc: Got this one quest bugged up and now its stuck in my quest log :(
avatar
MihaiHornet: Hm, I finished the game and never encountered a bugged quest. Which is the quest that you can't finish, did you check the strategy guide that comes with the gog version or some other online guide?
Ah its that quest called 'Web of fear' which u can get in the forgotten village. I didn't get at first what the quest was about but after consulting a quest guide i found out its about visiting some place further away from the village and coming back there.I found out the place which is a clearing with 3 standing stones with runes on them (kind of like stones in a node). According to the guide and walkthroughs, after returning, the village should then be ravaged by giants and the villagers killed. But when i get there, everything's the same. No giants and the villagers are still minding their own business. Though i'd wait for a day or two, but nothing changed. Tried again many a time but to no avail. So now its still in my quest log :( and i don't even have a previous save....Unless i've been going to the wrong spot. But that's unlikely as i've consulted too many walkthroughs to be wrong.

I take it the OP is referring to Two Worlds 1... which I am playing at the moment...and really enjoying.

I like the world visually and socially.
I like the story that is unfolding through the quests and random npc comments.
I like the combat.
I like the shopping....looking out for upgrades for my armor and the next weapons I want to use.
I like the alchemy and gems etc.
And the horses are cool too.
And at this point I am adjusted to the quaint dialogue.

Overall it is one of my favorite rpgs.

I also bought TW2 from GOG. Looking forward to that.

I remember this quest, the village is to be destroyed by the giants if you investigate that place. I stumbled upon that place place and killed the giants before getting to the village. Anyway, it's not much of a quest so you didn't lost much anyway. If you take your time and explore the world you will eventually level up to be so immensely powerful that a little lost xp from a minor stuck quest doesn't really matter.

Well horses being one thing, I actually didn't like riding them..I mean i've a very low skill in horse riding so maybe that's where the frustration of not being able to properly control the horse comes from, but in general its not that smooth a ride.
Also looking forward to TW2 as soon as i'm done with this one first!

Well i'm not worried about not getting XP, as i'm sure in this game u can level up even by merely roaming around and slaying creatures :D..I may sound silly saying this but i don't like the fact that there is a quest in my journal left incomplete cause of a bug. Completing all quests, at least for me, means experiencing every bit of the game, kind of like an achievement, but now i guess that won't be happening :p. Anyways lets see if this bug fixes itself. Haven't played for a whole 2 weeks, so might concentrate on other quests before checking on that village again.

I haven't put points into horse riding and still find I can handle the horse fine. It just takes a little getting used to.
I use the horse mostly for storage. When I'm entering unknow country I walk, since there is usually trouble around every corner; and having to constantly dismount is a pain; also enemies can hit the horse and kill it; so I keep it out of harms way and use the whistle to keep it up with me. But in country I have cleared I can belt along the roads fine.

What annoys me to no end is that you cannot heal your horse (at least as far as I know). I have a very rare horse that can carry an immense load (at least compared to the vanilla horses found everywhere), but it's so beaten up that now it takes only a few hits to die.

I use horses for storage almost exclusively. Why bother dragging a horse around to carry a load (and worry about it getting killed) when you can just teleport away at any time with your portable teleporters and sell your loot (or store what you want to keep) when your inventory is full?

For storage I use a chest nearby the Gorelin teleport, in a small camp on the right side as you approach the village.

There's a chest right beside the road with a teleport opposite just down the road from Komorin. I started using that one early on and just kept it up. It's convenient due to the proximity of that teleport. I started collecting horses early on as well and took them there. It looks like my private stable now (heh). I use the chest for storing weapons I'm going to enhance with gems and the horses for storage for other items to keep them sorted (one for permanent effect items, another for temporary effect items, another for armor pieces I plan on upgrading etc.) Makes it easy to find what I want and easy to access because of the teleport being right there.

Yes that is a pain. I have lost horses to wolves etc.
I find that it is not practical to ride a horse into unknown territory since there are wolves & bandits etc every few metres. I walk ahead and call my horse. So I'm using it mainly for storage. But one can always teleport to a town and sell direct from ones inventory too. Sometimes I just do that.
Has anyone managed to explore all of the game world map? Like brighten all the dark areas of the map? Cause there are many terrains which are untraversable. I managed to brighten most of the north of the map..

I think I did it or almost anyway. There are only a few small marginal areas which I believe that are not accessible.

In some cases, you can only use a cheat for that. The line-of-sight-teleport cheat is quite useful in that regard.
