Due to the audio/crash bug in Tropico 5, I am still not sure what I think of this series.

If I could actually play Tropico 5, maybe I would consider buying 6 at some point.

falloutttt: 1) Clinic and other fun, religious, etc. type buildings.

It's possible for a clinic worker(s) to go into their own building seeking healthcare. If both workers go into their own clinic this effectively locks down not only the workers but everyone in the clinic. So now your workers from farms, ranches, teamsters etc won't be able to work. This same effect happens to a lesser effect on buildings with more slots available but it's still possible for the entire building to get locked up. A church having one nun visiting her own church effectively locks up ~8 visitor slots and then the people visiting just have to wait. I've had churches with up to two nuns visiting their own church making the building effectively a money sink and useless. Since the building itself is always the closest building they will visit it as long as their are visiting slots available.

Normally, by the time you notice this your gameplay is ruined even if you have prior save files because the problem just occurs again.
This is exactly the reason why I am not buying this game. That's a game breaking bug that should be top priority to be fixed. But, I've seen no discussion from the devs on here nor on Steam that they are fixing it.

That's the thing, it was talked about since mid-December. Yet nothing have been done since to fix the bugs to this day. I'm not buying the game until it's fixed.
Hi everybody,
@Sdfghj
Every single citizen is simulated once again.
As be aware, besides other factors, most importantly Tropico 6 uses a whole new engine (Unreal 4).
What you mean by physical incidents? You mean getting your citizens imprisoned, or let's say vanished? Yes.
Pathfinding is always a topic, which we are working on, yet the game has seen many improvements in pathfinding since its original release last year, therefore GoG-players profit from those massively.

@Icinix
Be aware that Tropico 6 is a whole new game, made by a whole new developer and with a completely new engine (Unreal 4), therefore comparing and thinking about possible problems in one game makes no sense.

@Valdasaar
I have no details on that. Stay tuned.

@falloutttt
You referring to an older Tropico-game? As this is something that makes no sense. As I pointed out above, this is a whole new game, with new developers, new engine, new features and more.

@yukihotaru
There is nothing to fix without any further details. Could you share some more details on that, especially starting with your system specs to get this properly sorted in the first place.

@Kloreep
No comparison to Tropico 5 as this is a whole new game. ;)

This was reported back in December of 2019 as a Tropico 6 issue. Kalypso should have been notified about this massive issue at that time. However, nothing has been said about it at all by the developers nor Kalypso of this game breaking bug. Being the CM of Kalypso maybe you should get Kalypso to light a fire under these devs to fix this so everyone of you can make more money.

Are you kidding me ? This bugs have been reported since last year. And I'm talking about Tropico 6, not an older game.

Fix those bugs and I'll gladly buy the game and DLC.
Hi Krogan,
we are aware of this and having a look into this.
Yet, it is not as critical as you claim it to be and therefore, there might be some other things that are higher on our priority list, that will be fixed and improved with the next updates first.

Therefore, please be aware we are constantly working and improving the game further. I cannot make any promises so far, yet, thank you for pointing out and I will surely forward this to our devs.

@falloutttt
Have you played the game already, or just referring to someone else's post?
As be aware and to be fair, this is not a gamebreaker as you are seem to try to make it.
As I have stated to Krogan, I will surely forward this (once again), yet there are many things on our priority list and we are currently working on and I cannot make any promises that this will be fixed with the next updates.
However, there are many more improvements, bugfixes, optimizations been worked on and released with the next updates.

WOW. First, claiming that a game breaking bug isn't a game breaking bug is just terrible. Second, claiming that this game breaking bug isn't on a "high priority list" despite it being reported almost two months ago is even worse. But, then completely dismissing and being condescending to another person who is expressing the SAME EXACT STATEMENT as me. That takes the cake. This instills absolutely no confidence in me that Kalypso nor these devs gives a flying f to actually fix bugs that breaks their games.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

One of my questions seems to have been unclear. I was wondering what happened in case of an invasion or insurrection - are the soldiers simulated again or do you have to control them as in a rts?

It is a game-breaking bug to me, in the way I play this type of games.

It's up to you when to fix the bug/s. But I'm not buying your game/s until bug/s are fixed. I'm very patient guy in that regard.

I'll wait till Tropico 10, if i have to, to buy the 6th, if it gets fixed by that time.

All the best!

Hope it gets fixed soon, or perhaps have the dev brew some workaround (even manual workaround will do!). I'm itching for an upgrade from Tropico 4

Since I'm not part of the development team, or the publisher and have zero idea about what processes went into a development - a simple 'Yes, completely reworked engine' would have been much a more polite, faster and effective engagement with customers and fans than this response.

Just a polite heads up for future engagements yeah?
I have played the game for many hours and not had a single crash or seen any of the problems that people report here.

If more developers are to support GOG, it would be great if the whiners here and elsewhere don't immediately jump down their throats. You can ask about patches etc., but I see no reason to be as upset or snarky as some of you are.

I'm loving Tropico 6. The best game in the series so far; keep up the good work!

Hey guys, stay friendly. You would probably don't want your customers to talk to you this way.

Thank you for bringing the game to GOG and for Linux!
