I have only just bought Transport Fever on Gog.com. I'm using Linux. At first Ubuntu Studio 16.04.3 and now Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon. I haven't been able to figure out anything about the game, because when starting up a new game, the screen freezes within 5-10 minutes. Then the screen goes black for 1 second, returns but the game still hangs. Nothing can be done but resetting the computer.

It might be video card related, but I've checked and I have the most up to date drivers that I can find.

In addition, the trees show up as black squares aswell for most of the time, or flicker. I have tried to put graphic settings to Low but it didn't help.

This is my system:

AMD A4-5300 APU with Radio HD 7480D graphics card.
3.1 GB memory

Is it down to too low specifications that the game doesn't run properly?

You're probably running out of memory. You really need at least 4 GB at a minimum, 8 or even 16 GB is better if you want the game to run smoothly.
Hey Falsegodz

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I might want to try that anyway.
Cheers!!

I've put in the extra 8GB, which leaves me with a net 10 gb. Should be enough. Sadly, however, the problem still exists. Anyone has got a clue?

Have you tried both with and without the latest patch? Some people found that it made the game unstable.

If that doesn't help here is the steam troubleshooting page, maybe something there will help.
