I don't know if this is due to the last patch or was already in the game befoire but I cannot find anything about it and I've only been playing for a week or so.
Here are two examples to illustrate my issue :
Example 1
Say there is one single oil well O and 2 refineries R1 and R2
There are also 2 chains
Ch1 Brings oil from O to R1, waits for transformation and brings back Fuel to cities C1 and C2 in it's way back to O
Ch2 Brings oil from O to R2 waits for transformation in refined oil and brings it back to chemical plant CP before going back to O
Problem being that from time to time each refinery will make the wrong product which would be ok if it was being kept in store but it breaks the chains because it delivers that product to the Chain to be transferred to the other chain where they connect.
So Ch1 brings oil to R1 who makes refined oil instead of fuel and delivers it to the docks until a boat ends up picking up a load of refined oil instead of fuel, pass through C1 and C2 wasting time and money because it has no fuel to deliver and going back to O to unload that refined oil.
In O the refined oil will switch chains and go to C2
Then a boat from C2 instead of loading oil will load refined oil, bring it to R2 for nothing before going to deliver it to CP.
And there is nothing that I can do about it except waste even more money having one boat set to oil just to bring it from O to R1 and another to fuel just to bring the fuel to the 2 cities.
Example 2
A boat goes from
1-forest to load wood
2- sawmill to deliver the wood and get planks
3-Goods factory to deliver the planks and wait for goods
4-City 1 to deliver part of the goods
5-City 2 to finish unloading all goods
In the cities the goods are taken by truck to a central station that had the best cover for commercial and industrial.
Those cities are also being provided food from another chain and that food is being delivered by another chain of trucks to the same central station than the goods.
Sometimes a bit of that food (3, 5 units or so) are brought back from the central station to the docks and being made available for the boat that runs the Wood/PLanks/Goods chain.
In the first city the food just stays there and is wasted but as the boat is still carrying goods it's never picked up
But on the second and last city the boats are empty a, there is no other cargo to be taken so they take the food every time and so the chain for goods is completely broken.
The boat returns to the forest with some food in it's cargo, cannot pick up any wood and just stays there forever. If I make it so that it doesn't wait then it'll make a huge trip just to deliver 3 or 5 food to a city that has food already avilable anyway and except if there is by luck a break in the availability of food in the second city it'll just pick up more food there anyway and neer again pick any wood/planks/goods
So either I'm doing something wrong or the last patch broke something or it was alwyas like that because as i've said i've been playing only a few days without the patch and never got far enough to make a huge production chain like the ones I run now.
