Windows 7, having that issue with TotalA Commander pack where the colors get all crazy and overblown and you can't actually tell what anything is. I install the community patch, it works fine... in windowed mode. In fullscreen (Which let's be honest if you play RTSs in windowed mode and you don't have a giant monitor you're a gigantic prick) the game crashes and tells me to check my DirectX environment. I install a hotfix patch from the TotalA forums and it works in fullscreen, but brings me back to my issue with the ridiculous colors. I tried 256 color mode, Windows 7, XP Service Pack 2, and XP Service Pack 3 Compatibility modes, admin, and yes, my graphics card drivers are up to date. I literally just rage uninstalled the game, but if someone wants to help me troubleshoot, I'll reinstall.

(See Attached Image) This shit, to be exact.

I have a tip on a possible fix since you're using Win7. People have discovered that your desktop background can affect the game. Why? Not a clue. So try to play the game using a solid colour background.
Alternatively, change out of Areo if you're using it and (again if you use it) turn off desktop slideshow.
Disable Aero and visual themes in the properties of the game executable.
Neither of those worked, sorry.

Which graphics card do you have?

AMD Radeon 7400m. :)

With AMD, you should try using older graphics card drivers if possible. AMD driver updates fucking up compatibility with older games is not news.

You can also attempt at running it in a virtual machine just to see what happens.

I don't really feel like fucking with outdated drivers and virtual machines :/
Also, drivers are a nightmare to install on my PC.

Edit: Wrong graphics card. AMD Radeon HD 6470M. I don't know how I managed to get that wrong for two years, but whatever.

The community patch fixes this but it crashes with a DirectX error upon fullscreen.

Make sure you have DirectX 9.0c installed properly by these instructions to be sure. (No, it won't conflict with DirectX 10 and newer, but it doesn't come shipped with any Windows version).

Followed the instructions to a T, DX9 is installed, still doesn't work with the community patch, same issue
Should I see if maybe it works without the community patch since installing DX9?

No harm in doing so, but I doubt that will do much.

Owwwww, that's so saddie. :P

I wonder what DXWND's "windowed mode" would change. Although I don't know how to set it.
