On steam already is version 2.0.
Here, on this buggy GOG, is still older one and doesn't work on supported linuks Mint 1.17 LTS!!!
It was first and the last time i bought game here
Seconded. We need and deserve the latest patches here. Too many companies treat non-Steam customers as an afterthought or second-class priority, but we paid as much if not more for the game here.

I know this is a publisher thing, not GOG's fault, but I strongly urge GOG to put pressure on developers like this one who ignore their platform in favour of another and thus make their whole service seem less desirable.

I totally understand that due to infrastructure, Steam will almost always get updates first; that's the price we pay for DRM-free. However, when it is weeks or even months before an update comes to GOG that has been released on Steam, it makes me very angry and feel like my business is not valued unless I buy through Steam.

If devs are going to offer their games on other services, they need to not forget about them after they've got the initial purchase!
It would be nice to know even estimated time of new version arrival.

Come on, GOG, tell us SOMETHING.

I'm surprised there's no version 2.0 update yet. The DRM-free version should be more easy to update, at least technically speaking.
Just wanted to create a thread about the ETA of the new patch. Any updates from the GOG staff/developers?

Try PM-ing a blue text, referring them to this thread.
Ok so the holidays are over now. Does anyone have a clue about what's going on?
Should we contact 11bitstudios or is that something for GOG to do?

Well, it's Saturday but other users have had success in contacting the devs for other games...
From their Facebook page:

"The new GoG build is currently being tested, it should soon be ready."

That's what they wrote on 14 dec 2015. I suppose nobody would be doing any testing through the Christmas...

Ah I didn't knew about the Facebook message. I'll contact the devs if we don't hear anything about it by the end of this week, which seems reasonable to me.
Thanks for letting us know! I can wait. :)

Edit: Weird, I can't find that message on Facebook. I found a message from December the 11th and looked through the reactions but I see no comments about non-steam releases being tested.

It was a message in polish, a response to the comment made by some girl by the name of Marta. Copypasted here:

"Marta S________ ok ale kiedy bedzie update na gog'u tongue emoticon

This War Of Mine Nowy build dla GOGa jest w tej chwili w testach, więc niedługo powinien być gotowy do wrzucenia na stronę.

Aah great, thanks again for sharing!

I asked 11bit Studios directly by messaging them on Facebook and this is the reply they gave me.
"Modding tools will be only available on steam. The mods themselves though will work also with games from other sources like Humble Bundle and etc."

What?! This is ridiculous. I know that the workshop integration is a great thing to do, but why restrict modding only to it? :/

11bit, I hope you guys happen once to step on a stray Lego.
That's how I feel about it. As far as I know the modding tools are 'external programs' so I so no technical reason to make them workshop only.
I think it's quite a bad move because I've seen some great mods for different games, most of them were developed for the DRM-free version first and later on released on the Steam workshop. I have no clue why the best mod devs are mostly using the DRM-free version but that's my experience.

Besides... why limit a feature which is made to do the opposite: make more possibilities.

Edit: I just realised that this also means that we can't use any mods. Because you need to have the game on Steam in order to add the mods to the game... which is impossible because we don't have it on Steam.
They say that the mods will work on all other builds but there's no way we can get them from the workshop! :(

New update from 11bit Studios. I asked them about how to obtain mods without Steam.
"Anyone having the mod files will be able to share them with other people. It's just the matter of coping the files from the game folder."

The thing is... I know no-one who has these files.
