Hi all,

New to GOG. Just wondering if anyone knew what the turn around time for updates are.

The new 1.1 update adding new characters and some fixes came out today and there's no indication of that on this site anywhere I can find.

Got really hooked on it over the last few days. So, I'm eager to check out the new content.
GOG may take a few days... hopefully not long. GOG has to compile the update into it's own installers which is why these things aren't as quick as Steam's simple and straight forward updater. If you feel the need to, send your query to support and they will let you know what the deal is. Leaving messages about updates on the forum will most likely be missed by any moderators.

Funny but I've just come to the forum after doing exactly that (query to support) hope the update comes soon as it looks good.
I'm aware that it'll take longer through GOG's system. Just wanted to get a feel for how long as this is the first game I bought from the site with an update that I'm looking forward to.

That depends on lot of factors, most important being when the dev remembers to send patch GOG's way in the first place (GOG having to probe dev for the patch is not unfortunately unusual. GOG can't monitor all game devs so informing them about new patches helps in case dev "forgets".). At what time do they send it (if it's after polish working hours, then next day the earliest. If friday evening them it goes to next week). Wether they send patch and/or new installer. Wether or not the patch has game breaking bugs (GOG tend to put all of their games and most of their patches thru their own QA testing). Wether or not there are other unforseen problems or delays.

If dev sends patch in timely manner and there are no problems, I'd say it should take only couple days. However there have been cases where it has taken months because dev did not send the patch to GOG and no one informed GOG that one was available so GOG did not know to ask for it. Note that other vendors suffer from this as well.

Any news on the update?

I've bought the game here to support polish company (CDP), but if the service is just plain worse than steam, I guess I'll think about moving there...
Just be freaking better gog dudes!
Lesson learned. Old games - GOG, new games - Steam.

I remember the devs for windforge always 'forgetting' to send gog their new versions.... GOG chased them up though and problem was fixed. Can I ask if anyone has contacted 11bit and not just GOG?
Hoping for this update too! I love t his game and have survived six wars with my crews. Hopefully GOG can work it out with their #1 selling game (at one point about a week ago).

Yeah. I made the mistake of informing GOG about newer version AFTER I encountered a game breaking bug in GOG's version. Informed both the dev and GOG about it and it got updated some times later. Should always assume they don't know and inform them just in case. Oddly enough Humble version was up to date and I used it to check if the bug was fixed in latest version before sending the mails.

As for This war of mine update, devs have uploaded two quick fixes since 1.1 so it's possible upload elsewhere has been delayed due to them finding more or new bugs in 1.1. It's also possible GOG QA has delayed upload for same reason. Hopefully no new game breaking or crash bugs were discovered over the weekend. Edit:Unfortunately no such luck as more possibly game breaking bugs (loot piles disappearing, breakable furniture disappearing/not showing up and canceling actions makes you lose all the materials involved) have been reported and alt tabbing apparently still hangs the game.

Here's the changes since initial release:

Version 1.1.2 (28 November 2014)

Windows fixes:

- Fixed the "dark screen" issue which occured on some old GPUs.
- Fixed minimization crash in windowed mode.

Features:

- Added missing lines in Spanish localization.
- Minor corrections in German, Italian and French localizations.

Version 1.1.1 (27 November 2014)

Fixes:

- Fixed the bug which caused the game to close immediately after launch on some Windows setups.

Features:

- Added Spanish localization.

Version 1.1.0 (26 November 2014)

Features and tweaks:

- A new radio station - Vysena - featuring the music by Cool Kids of Death (Polish alternative punk rock band)
- New character setups
- Enhanced locations
- Bug fixes
- Animation improvements

---------------------------------------------------------

Fixes and balancing:

- Fixed "Input Not Supported" bug on Windows.
- Changed fullscreen mode handling on Windows.
- Improved game stability based on crashdumps sent by players.
- "Aggro bug" fix. NPCs should no longer attack or flee without reason.
- Fixed broken trade. NPCs should no longer trade their entire stock for one item (Marketplace, Garage).
- Price changes now have an impact also on selling items to NPCs.
- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to prevent items from getting stolen during night attacks.
- Fixed a bug with getting stuck with only one initial characters group.
- Fixed a bug with incorrect shelter description when Reinforced Door was built.
- Fixed a bug with visible gendertag in shelter description.
- All achievements can now be unlocked.

Enjoy!

November 17th update.

We've just posted a small update.

It should fix issues that some of our Linux players might have experienced.

Additionally there were some minor bug fixes and improvements.

Have a great day and enjoy the game!

Shame. Was actually thinking about buying this regardless of it not being on sale, but sounds like I'll need to wait until a patch gets posted here.
Another quick fix was uploaded to steam yeasterday:

Version 1.1.3 (1 December 2014)

Fixes:

- Fixed the bug which caused interactive shelter elements to stop working (i.e. "workbench bug").
- Fixed a bug which caused crashes on startup on some Windows setups.
- Added support for missing display modes (i.e. resolution 1280x720).
- Improved logging (http://steamcommunity.com/app/282070/discussions/0/617320628066642121).

Edit: checked the developers forum and this is their reply:

Re: GOG Update 1.1 / DRM Free Questions ?

As I keep writing - we're working on it, the DRM-free version is in tests, should be not long till its release. And probably, yes - there will be some time between different versions unless we grow much bigger.
Don't quite get why DRM-free version needs so much "testing". Shouldn't it be the same as Steam but steam stuff disabled?

Lol they have a DRM free version on GamesRepublic... their own distribution site. That response is ridiculous.

A lot of Devs seem to have the Steam version as their primary code-base. Which is ignorant if you plan on releasing multiple builds. They should have base game code, technically doesn't need to be build able, then pull that code for Steam, DRM-free and etc. Any native game bugs you fix in the base game code, which fixes it for all versions, and build specific bugs, Steam achievement not activating, you would fix for that specific build.

It's not updated there either apparently. Seems bit stupid for them to essentially promote alternate distribution channel at cost of their own site. It's like rubbing it to the faces of their own customers.
