I have completed all the treasure hunt quests for the wolven trousers and I am ready to craft the 2nd tier, or enhanced level. I crafted everything except the trousers when I realized I dont have the Enhanced Wolven Trousers on my carft list. I have ever one of the other patterns at every leven, just not the Enhanced Wolven Trousers. I can see the quest under the "completed" tab, but the pattern is not on my list.

Confused :(

1. Do you have the first tier trousers already created and equipped or in your inventory?
2. Are you sure you haven't already upgraded them?

Hey Hickory.

Yes, I do have the Wolven (1st tier) trousers. I am still wearing them. If I had upgraded, they would have been the 1st ingredient and I wouldn't have them still. But even if I had already crafted the Enhanced tier, i would still have the ability to make it again, right?

No. If you have upgraded them they will not be in the ingredients. The ingredients need to include the first tier, not the enhanced version. You could make the first tier trousers again if you have the right ingredients, but you cannot make the enhanced without the normal version.

Assuming you are wearing the normal version, are you certain you've recovered the recipe for the enhanced version? Most Witcher gear comes under more than one sub-quest for the complete set.

I know for sure the quest shows complete. Is it possible the quest triped "complete" even if I didnt loot the pattern?

I suppose anything is possible. First, go to Kaer Morhen and check the island north east of the lakeside hut. See this video.
