I get this error when I put any mod in my mods folder, which means I can only play this game unmodded. Though since I get this error(same error everytime) regardless of which mod I install, it bears the question, are my game files somehow broken? The only other mod I installed is the one that removes the intro and storybook(Which is not installed into mods folder but into content0/bundles. Why does this happen? Does it happen to anyone else?

gestube: Error [content0]game\player\playerwitcher.ws
Many mods alter the above 'playerwitcher.ws' script. If you have more than one mod with scripts, you must merge the scripts. Note that script merging is not flawless.
No you don't get it, this error comes up even if there is only one mod in the mods folder and even if it doesn't modify playerwitcer.ws

Basically any mod, regardless of what file it modifies, will make this script error come up.

Then there is only one explanation: either your game is not up to date with the mod/s, or the mod/s are not up to date with your game. In the second case, you need to contact the mod author/s.
I am getting the same exact error despite a fresh and fully up-to-date installation. I only wanted to use a few "quality of life" mods - camera adjustment, timeflow modification, and increasing weight limit.

The error occurs, as gestube mentioned, with even just one mod in the folder. What's more confusing, some of the mods resulting in these errors have nothing to do with the listed functions...

Edit: just to clarify, the mods I attempted to run are supposedly all reworked specifically for 1.12 version.

The annoying part is that some of the other mod users report them running without a problem. Not sure if they are running an older version, or it has something to do with game configuration, OR the presence of updated third-party framework, or whatnot - bottom line, I can't use mod files right now.

Ended up directly modifying game files myself for some things, but other parts are beyond my immediate level of knowledge. Would be appreciative of any suggestion regarding resolution of this issue.

These errors are only caused by scripts that don't match your game version, whether in a mod or placed manually in your ..\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\content\content[XX]\scripts\ folder/s. You should *always* back up folders that you modify.

I don't get errors from my manual modding (mostly because I just tweak variables to my liking).

The errors come from 1.12-updated mod packs, and they fire up with ANY of them. I could understand one author screwing up their mod, but three or four? Kind of unlikely. Hopefully your install order suggestion will remove whatever is borked up :)

gestube:
I'd strongly recommend you check the "\content\content0\scripts\engine\telemetryKeyword.ws" file.

Apparently 1.12 patch version should have "import final function LogWithName( eventType : ER4TelemetryEvents );" at the start of the code (right after the opening { bracket). Mine did not include the "WithName" part, which pretty strongly suggests that Hickory's suggested manual installation order ( https://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt/installation_order/post2 ) is a must.

Edit: The issue with the telemetry file is still occurring despite using the suggested installation order. Not sure why, but it seems the installation files obtained through the GOG Downloader links are borked up enough not to include all the 1.21 patch changes. Or whatnot.

One fix is to simply add the rest of the function name (I did verify it allowing the game to launch with all the mods installed correctly), but you might run into future issues since the game is not installed correctly. I'm personally going to do a full re-install in the recommended order, and I would strongly suggest the same

tl;dr version - check the "\content\content0\scripts\engine\telemetryKeyword.ws" file if it starts with "import final function LogWithName( eventType : ER4TelemetryEvents);"

If it doesn't have the "With Name" part, add it. Should solve the issue.

I had the same isssue once I updated to the patch 1.12 and tried to use some mods with it. Found out solution on nexusmods in a discussion under one of those mods. Here I'm copying the post that helped me solve it:

This error is caused by an old Telemetykeyword.ws file you can fix this easyly by going to download the file from the misc. section and install it like a normal mod
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/943/?
This wont fix the issue with this mod because its not updated yet but it will fix the compilation error with 1.12 updated mods.

In case anyonew wants more precise instructions, here is what I have done and what is basically happening.

Seems like the file telemetryKeyword.ws which is located in ...\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\content\content0\scripts\engine was not updated for some reason (might be a problem with just the gog version, but I was not researching if for example steam version has the same issue). You can take look into the folder and in my case, every other file is updated, except for this one, which is what is causing the issues. So, what you do is:

1) go to the files section of http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/943/?
2) download modTelemetryKeyword-1.12.zip which is in the miscellaneous section
3) unpack the mod as it is into your mods folder located in ...\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\Mods
4) start the game, mods should be working now

Basically what happens is that now you should have a folder named mod0000_0TelemetryKeyword in your mods folder. It contains the updated telemetryKeyword.ws and it is overriding the old file, so all the other mods that are compiled after are using the updated version (I believe they are compiled in alphabetical order, which is why there are so many 0's in the name of the folder, haven't really checked if that is absolutely the case, sounds logical). You can also just take the updated telemetryKeyword.ws and replace the old one, but I prefer this method to keep the installed files intact. Hope it helps. :)

Dude. You're the freaking best. This method worked and I can now play with mods. Thanks Czech bro!
Downloaded the mod and STILL have problems! name a single mod and I can run it. Add another and I get script errors!

It is so flipping annoying!

UK_John: a single mod and I can run it. Add another and I get script errors!
Because the mod scripts are conflicting with each other. Mods that alter the same script/s MUST be merged.

No. Because a) they are completely different and b) I have the conflict editor that checks and always says "No Conflicts!

I have tried many multiples of 2 mods showing no conflicts, but always get script errors!t
