If you downloaded patch before midnight CET and NOT using Galaxy, you may have gotten a corrupted version of it. If you encounter errors during patch installation please redownload it or simply use Galaxy.

Correct MD5 for patch is: 2315c06d86d2821848174a8ca6a45ee9

Hmm... It seems I can start the game...

Have seen the cinematic intro, and can see the configuration screen.
I have not started an new game, but I will try shortly....

Did they manage to screw up (not that's unlikely on day 1)?

I downloaded a patch, for a few secs the "PLAY" button was green, clicked on it, but Galaxy refreshed and now is back to grey and "Less than an hour". :(

Yeh I know it should be officially launched at 1AM CET, but damn is soo late :P

Same.. got some weird error about the patch file not being compatible with my system.. :(

And Galaxy keeps failing to install the patch automatically... *sigh*

Downloaded the patch (English, Windows), but whenever I try to run it it says something like "This is the wrong installer for your system".

The patch downloaded for me, but at the end it said: "Failed"...

Half an hour lost to no avail...

Same error as I got. I used the manual browser download. Just tried the GOG Downloader link, and this seemed to work properly. Just sad those links are more hidden now.

I am almost done getting mine. 304 MB. 40 seconds left! Wish me luck!

UPDATE:

And the patch is incompatible with Win 8.1 64bit so does my machine say :D !!!!

Downloaded the Polish patchand this one updated my english installation np. Perhaps the first download was faulty somehow.

Downloaded the direct link a second time and it seems to have worked this time... at least it is "patching".... nope.. patch failed.

Seems it doesn't like me having the game on another drive.. how ridiculous.. and because I chose to trust in the Galaxy client, I now don't have the original install files to reinstall the game but instead have to redownload the entire fricken game.

I got the same compatibility error with the English patch, downloaded the Polish one and it worked fine. Make sure the exe has the yellow GOG icon and not the standard windows exe icon.
