Greetings travelers!

So you have purchased yourself one of the greatest and most anticipated RPGs nowadays.
You downloaded the game and found out the lovely developers of this lovely piece are giving you free DLCs.
Great! Now, to activating them.

----------

*Attention!* The methods described below are still correct however, now that all of the free DLCs were released they were combined into one package called Free DLC Program (16 DLC). In the galaxy client simply choose it in the configuration or download the full package (500mb) from the website.

----------

There are two methods to doing this. Either use the Galaxy Client or download and install the DLCs manually.
Both methods will be explained bellow.

Method 1 - Download using the Galaxy Client:
1. First when you look at the game page you will see that there are DLCs on the left. The bottom one is the one you are looking for.
Go ahead and buy it, don't worry no payment is required (mine already says owned because I did this step).
2. Now to activate the DLCs press the 'more' tab next to the play button and go to configure.
After you have entered the configure section go ahead and mark your selected DLCs.
3. Enjoy your free content and don't forget to drop the developers a nice word.
Have fun and may your hunt be successful.

Method 2 - Download Manually:
1. First thing first you must go to this page and buy the free DLCs Program.
Go ahead and buy it, don't worry no payment is required.
2. After you have finished the purchase go to your account page.
3. Press the Witcher 3 icon or "folder" as I like to call it.
If you don't see the Witcher 3 "folder" you probably bought a retail copy. If that is the case, you must first redeem the code found inside the retail box into your GOG.com account.
4. After the drop down menu opens select the DLCs you wish to download under "DLC Downloads".
5. Save the .exe files and install them manually.
6. Enjoy your free content and don't forget to drop the developers a nice word.
Have fun and may your hunt be successful.

Available DLCs:
Currently all of the 16 Free DLCs are available to download:
1. Temerian Armor Set
2. Beard and Hairstyle Set for Geralt

7. New Quest: Fool's Gold: You can get the Quest at Velen, No Man's Land.
In Lurtch village, east of Lindenvale and north of Reardon's Manor, you'll find a group of men roasting a pig and another that screams desperately. Talk to one of the men in front of the fire to start the quest. (Thank you user Nephilim88)

11. New Quest - Contract: Skellige’s Most Wanted: You can get the Quest at Skellige.
You can accept this contract from the notice board in the small village of Fyresdal, in the southeast of the main Skellige Island.
12. Skellige Armor Set: You can buy it from the armorer in Kaer Trolde – the one in the keep, on the terrace to the right, just after you cross the bridge.
13. New Quest: Where the Cat and the Wolf Play: You can find this quest on the notice board in Oreton, Velen.
The document you have to take to start the quest is called The Beast of Honorton. It also starts the short contract quest: The Beast of Honorton.
14. Ciri Alternative Outfit: Automatically activates itself after installation, You can toggle it on and off in the options menu in-game.
To toggle the look On/Off: Options > Downloadable Content > Toggle the new look on/off.
15. New Finisher Animations: Automatically activates itself after installation.
16. New Game +: This is a new game mode which allows those who have finished the game to start anew, keeping all of their equipment and skills, while fighting tougher enemies and finding better loot.

You're welcome!
Hi. Is this accessed through Galaxy? I can't seem to find those options in the GOG website where I downloaded the game files.

Thanks.

Yes, Galaxy needed for it, at least I don't know any other workaround.

I used the Galaxy client to purchase the DLC but here is teh link to the gog.com purchase:

Oh thanks!
So these 2 DLCs are the first of the 16 free ones right? I take it the upcoming DLCs are redeemed the same way?

I believe so. I don't think you would even need to purchase them later just to activate them using the method I described above, Seeing as they are a part of the "Free DLC Program".
Glad I could help.
Now that you mention it.. it does make sense.. they should just automatically be added to our library once they become available.

Thanks again!

No problem!
Thank you so much, this should be stickied! I dont understand why the FREE dlcs have to be purchased (for 0,0€) anywany BEFORE they appear in the list. Either those are added to the account automatically OR they appear in the list nevertheless but redirect you to the store page.

Without them appear nobody will know. And you can download them on extras in Galaxy but there is no single note about how to activate them or if they are truely installed.
+1

Thanks! Didn't even know about this. I've installed them manually using the website instead of Galaxy. No problems.
Maybe it would be good to edit the topic name as it has a typo? The thread is a sticky now ... :)

Thank you all for the compliments and for the sticky.
Unfortunatly I haven't found a way to change the title so if one of the mods could do it that would be amazing.
I'm just glad I could help

And it was immediately changed. You people are the best!
