Witcher 2 is for me is a little disappoinment. Very short. Since it's about Witcher 3, i guess i'm entitled to voice my own opinion what i like to see in the next sequel.

I like a little more open world, alot more side-quests non related to the main plot, bigger world to explore, more dungeons and monsters to fight with, more diverse and in depth skilltree character development.

Also, I like the same engaging story and plot like in Witcher 2 for the next sequel as well.
As I have said before:

1) Show us more of the world - Nilfgaard is expected, personally I would love to see e.g.Redania, Kovir, Aard Skellige... Definitely let us visit a major city.

2) Give us more open areas (no less then Flotsam - yes Act 3, I am looking at you), so exploration makes more sense, is more rewarded and we appreciate more if we stumble on something special (item, enemy, quest, etc.)

3) More varied enemies - in terms of types and styles, as well as required tactics - more ranged human and non-human foes, more variety in human enemies, mages with various spells and just generally more types of monsters...
For a side storyline, I would like to see some closure on the Geralt/Yennefer/Triss triangle. I think the threats of a witchhunt against sorceresses from the end of TW2 could be used to frame that and give it urgency. I don't think it could or should be the main storyline. There should also be some closure on the Wild Hunt, but again it should not be the main storyline.

For the main quest, I think they should come up with something that we haven't even thought of yet. Maybe it's to do with the foreshadowed war with Nilfgaard, maybe it's something that will take us completely by surprise.

I would like exploration to be more rewarding (in interaction and things that extend play, not in loot, dammit!). The world outside (and inside) the towns should be sufficiently large and well populated with eccentrics like Gramps and hedgewitches like Anezka, drunken trolls, lost little boys, and so on.

Combat should be even closer to the canon: Geralt doesn't just walk up to, say, an Imperial Manticore and smack it in the nose. Monsters the Witcher cannot kill and fights he cannot win without extensive preparation should occur at least several times in the game, either as the subject of witcher contracts or extended quests, or blocking him from reaching a destination.

What should not be in the game: dungeon diving for dollars. There was too much loot in TW2 already: the game isn't about uber armor with no backstory that's just lying there in a cave. That's just silly.

What should be brought back: drinking. Persuading people with Witcher hexes is nice for telescoping gameplay, but real business and information trading gets done over tankards of beer and vodka, with the party who can keep his head clear the longest getting the best end of the deal.

Just make it good or better then the first one.

With medieval atmosphere and immersive main story and side quests. Maps can be a little bit bigger, but not necessarily.

This the Witcher 2 Hollywood shiny bullshit with QTEs is wrong idea.
More reactive skillsystem would be nice as well as more varied, and again reactive, wildlife. I'm pretty sure the narrative will be good, or at least passable, as a given.

Instead of QTE's (which wasn't implemented in an immersible way in Witcher 2), I would rather like my usual controls like left, right and duck/dodge to work during those sections.

Like imagine the Kayran fight: increase the size of the tenticles so that its actually a causeway for Geralt to run on it using input controls and duck/dodge using the other key and THEN put a QTE for a left click (with an indicator) at the end of the manually controlled tenticle run to impale/slice the Kraken at some location with a different set of animation.

The process of QTE implementation should be elegant, not rash or brute like button mashing or nano second quick dodge.

Just putting in random keys presses/mouse clicks just to showcase the urgency itsn't playing, its work..first thing which comes to mind is press the damn buttons so that the head ache is gone(finding it hard to imagine an example). Its not enjoyable..its just like putting in a feature, which has worked in other games/titles on consoles where the immersion was actually better with QTE or the transition between player control was smooth between normal gameplay against QTE's. (example for this is turning a 360degree lever with the joystick on the controller, but clicking mouse 10 times as an alternative is just immersion breaking).

AudreyWinter: But I'll be pissed if they'll be "perfect beauties" with double D-cup each... Yen isn't that typical beauty and Ciri is a petite girl, right?
Double D's are not perfect. Geralt knows that more than a mouthful is a waste. : D Fortunately, they have stayed away from excess. : )

Hopefuly we'll get back to Vizima at some point and see how that has done since it was burned up. Really liked that place. Also would like to see Shani return.

Um... which game are you referring to? There's enough of those double D's in TW2, or are D's the new B's and nobody notices anymore? Thankfully they left out the H's but as soon as there will be custom meshes, those will probably surface as well. Luckily that will be optional then. :)

Actually, I didn't think they were that extreme in the game. More a C maybe, but what do I know. : )

Yes, looked like a lot of C's and a B or two to me, which is very moderate compared to most games. The D's and DD's are pretty much confined to the prostitutes, where these are "working assets", and a few sorceresses, who compete with each other on such things.

Soooo... pretty much all noteable NPC's. Or let's say 98% female NPC's with speaking roles. Right? ;)

Yes, probably they couldn't do less if they wanted to, because since the influence of the eastern games, a normal figure can't compete... :(

And I'm not even sad about that because it makes me uneasy as a woman. But it just doesn't appeal to me. At all. Whereas those petite elf girls do get my attention. They are beautiful and that invites me to a closer look. ;)

Oh, I guess Saskia is the laudable exception. She's my favorite girl anyway. :)

Don't forget Triss and Ves. (OK, Triss is impossibly beautiful, but that's because they got a red-hot model to pose for her.) It's really only Philippa, Sile, and the prostitutes with the push-up bodices who overdo it. And the gods protect the working girl :)

I think thet little Elf girl I saved and got rewarded for later may have been in the B category. I like Saskia as well. Too bad we don't to interact with her more.
The Witcher 2 now being my favorite RPG of all time, it's very easy to say that they should stick with what they're doing in enhance it. I, for one, really liked the combat changes. I look back at some of the alpha footage and realize how silly the game would have been with combat from The Witcher 1. Everything about the combat, I feel, was improved in this game. Geralt may have moved a bit slower, but he was much more agile and required darting around like the lore actually suggests.

Some others also really want a lot of side quests, and I'm not at all for that just for the fluff. TW1 really sidestepped the entire character of the story with a lot of pointless derisions which eventually led you to Salamandra. Every side quest in TW2 related to something, like conflict or things that would later rear their ugly head. The side quests should be a lot more intelligently designed rather than being far too plentiful and drag out the game. TW2 may have not had enough content for some, but I'd rather a nice slice than one spread too thin. All the things Geralt did in TW2 made sense for who he was, rather than being usual hero quests.

I feel TW2 also kicks off the real story we're going to see developed throughout the future games with the Emperor's attack to the North. I really like the choices available in this game because they have mountains of possible weight, rather than in other games were literally all that changes are names. I would like a few of these resolved in TW3, but I would also like to see mountains more of these come and twist the story into a winding web that will ultimately affect the fate of the kingdoms.

Some of the RPG elements could use poilshing, I must admit. Again, TW isn't like average RPG games (I think loot in these games is the absolute lowest priority and should stay that way) but the skill system could use a bit more polish. Perhaps give incentive to mix up trees in order to better certain playstyles, give alchemy and utilizing tech as two separate trees, make levelling up more of a big deal, and balance the economy better. I literally spent money willy-nilly.

The boss fights probably need the most improvement. What I really like is that the drauger has no definite strategy. You can try a lot more on him than you can on the Kayran or the dragon. The Kayran had an obvious strategy, the drauger was really dynamic, and the dragon was just really repetitious. Create open areas and more varied fights like the drauger and you will have some of the most memorable boss fights of any RPG. You have an amazing combat system here, so utilizing the real-time strength of it is paramount.

All in all, I can't wait for TW3. Everything's seeming rather bright for CDPR's future because of the great ideas that they have. If they can carry the philosophies they've created thus far into every part of the game (character, environment, effect) then TW3 might just trump TW2.

Yes, more Saskia interaction would be very nice, not of the sexual kind though. That would completely defy the dwarf loving virgin dragon thing. But it would be rad, if she came back in TW3 to save us from a particularly nasty situation, when we let her live (lifted the curse).

Btw. Triss is pretty busty as well, if she wore a corset, she could easily compete with the working girls - I know, I have corsets myself, they do wonders for the cleavage, even with medium sized breasts. :D
