I want to thank the OP for this thread! I agree with many of the posts here. I have some to toss in:

Have the Map open centered on Geralt’s location zoomed to the last zoom setting I set. Also, what’s up with that jittery, useless, compass?

Allow notes on the map.

Any UI element you open (M)ap, (I)nventory, etc. should be a toggle. Pressing M or I also closes the panel.

Dice - the camera needs a better angle. (I lost my first dice game because the poor angle I didn't see the dice, and clicked to roll, and dropped them on the floor. :)

After clicking Launch Game the wolf emblem briefly appears, disappears, then I see my desktop for about 50 seconds, screen goes black for 10+ seconds then the 5 billboard screens start. Progress bar? Keep the emblem up and flash the eyes? Optimize loading?

Mouse. Sometimes clicks are ignored, in and out of combat. Double clicks rarely work to equip items, same with buying and selling.

Mouse sensitivity varies in different aspects of the game. For example, it is much more sensitive in the dice game.

I can almost understand why there's no potion quaffing during combat. But then why can I apply oil?

I'm not very far in TW2 but in some spots Geralt's dialog sounds like a different actor. Or it's the same actor but he drops out of Squint Eastwood mode.

In addition to adding a quick load key allow quick save and load keys to be changed.

Add two quests. One called, "Dog catcher" the other, "Your goose is cooked".

I imagine all the potions he drinks is making Geralt look like a crank addict. Please add Makeup crafting! :p
I believe the potions have a much longer duration in this game than they did in 1, so no reason to keep slugging those things down. After all those potions, Gerault will be needing a stint in rehab. : )

they dont. not at all.

unless you think it takes 10 minutes for 8ish ingame hours to pass

I didn't think I got 10 mins on those things in 1. 10 Mins, sems to be enough time to take care of business or has to this point.

i am able to do more then 1 quest with one potion active in the last game. and still have time to spare. this game i hardly get one done
I (and probably near everyone) run away at full speed from the fight if I am getting close to death. In most cases I can survive unless there is a missile unit of some sort. Does this make sense though? I think if you are very low on health you should run slower and stagger..perhaps even the side of the screen turns red along with a rapid heartbeat/breathing/moans. I like how that was done in TW1.

This should apply to monsters too. I don't like how mobs with a sliver of life left run at full speed at me along with the herd.
Sorry I didn't update the op when I said I would, I'll try to tomorrow (probably will finish the game then and it's my birthday tomorrow) so I should have time.

do your best ^__^
Nice thread, lot of great suggestions.
Sorry if this is repeating anything, but just a couple of things I'd like to add:

I personally really like the timed decision making for some dialogues. However, there should be an option in the Options menu to set your reading speed (see the wonderful wonderful flash game MASQ for an example).

Important NPCs could possibly be labelled with green text or similar, so that you can distinguish them more easily.

A button (similar to Alt in TW1) that highlights NPC names.
Camp fires do too much damage - it's like you're covered in flammable liquid the moment you step on one.

Also, talking to one of the Kedwaeni guards amongst all the tents in Henselts camps alwasy resets your character to standing on the fire once the conversation is over.

Also, is it true that you gain no XP from traps and bombs? Seems like an oversight if so.

Also, parrying only works on the targeted enemy. I think it should apply to all enemies currently attacking if you time it correctly. Make the system more like Batman: AA would make group fights against humans a lot more fun.

yeah sometime si dont even notice that theres a timed part, and at the last second i see it and rush a choice.
Bug :
Acte 2 (choice was "Roche side")
When playing dice with "Skalen Burdon" (at Vergen) multiple times it gives you 2 additionnal items after the one for main quest.

The first is supposed to be "the sword of warrior princess xenthia".
This item isn't given to us.

The second one is a clothe that appear to be an "items quest".. Maybe the first one is an item quest too, or a cool sword.. too bad we can't have it :/

Edit : For the steel sword, it doesn't "disappear". It becames "invisible items".. you still can use it to fight if you "press 1". Also you don't loose it if you place another steel sword in the slot.. your previous sword "invisible" is taken back to inventory where you can equip it again and it will appear right this time ;)

I'm sure it's been mentioned by the ability to compare your equipment with stuff that vendors are selling would be a great addition - really surprised that isn't already in place here as it's been years since I last played an RPG without that.

Also, really think that the parry ability should counter any enemy's attack, not just the guy you're locked onto. Would be a lot more fun if the system was more akin to Batman: AA or Assassin's Creed in terms of counters without changing the balance too much.

no one wants assassins creed, where countering = a kill every time.

but batman is more welcomed
The environments are so beautifully designed and detailed but this super close up camera view that I cannot adjust is spoiling the whole exploration experience for me. At first it actually made me nauseous to the point where I had to stop playing for a bit. I can't believe this hasn't been brought up more.

I would love to have the option just to zoom the camera out a ways. This is by far the thing that I would like to see changed most.
