I can't decide should i keep it or not, i got it from the quest "Hung over" and since its a blue stripes tattoo i got a feeling it could be both useful and dangerous. So anyone know if it will come in handy later in the game or will it be bad luck
No spoilers please first playthrough and i am at chapter 1.

I played through the entire game with it, because I wanted to see if it'll still be there when Witcher 3 comes out and I import that save game.

Didn't notice any good effects or bad effects whatsoever. Just an aesthetic thing. It does give you a funny dialogue when you talk to Triss about potentially removing it, though :)

EDIT: I should mention that the playthrough where I kept it was one where I sided with the Scoia'tael, so if there was anything bad that would happen because of it, I would have seen it.

I finished the game with the tattoo too, and havent noticed any influence of the tattoo... if I remember correctly, there are possibilities to remove the tattoo in every act (but not too sure about Act III), but no character reacted to the tattoo except the possible removal (and Triss joking about it)
I think the purpose of this tattoo is to show the long term consequences of getting drunk with a bunch of jesters :)

Other than that there doesn't seem to be any side effect, whoever you side with Roche or Iorveth.

Considering the price of the necessary ingredients to remove it (you can only buy Wolf Aloe and Green Mold), I'd say that CDPR tried to push the player to keep it.

Yes, if you import your W2 save he will still have the tattoo in W3.
