After running the game and clicking on Register Game I get prompts to create a CD Projekt account, log in, then enter my CD Key. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any text appear in the fields when I type, nor will it let me type or paste my key in. I keep getting Invalid Code prompts.

Interestingly, I was able to blind-type in text and create an account then log in. The step after that asks for my key which doesn't seem to work at all. Anyone else have this problem?

Hmm sounds like possible hardware failure it can happen when hitting your vid card with something new. I would pull up the virtual keyboard and try to mouse it in, and then restart.
I think it is to do with the DPI setting.

You cant see what you are typing but the text is still being entered. I had the same problem but have registered my game now.

Just make sure you don't have spelling mistakes. Using copy and paste works.

From the Support FAQ on www.thewitcher.com:
"3. I cannot enter anything into the Product Activation Code field

Such a situation may occur if a non-default text size (DPI) is used. In this case please restore the default size (100%). Find the instructions on how to change the text size in this link.
(...)
If these problems occur, please return to the standard text size.
Windows XP
Rightclick on the desktop -> Select Properties -> Choose Display Settings
Click Advanced.
In General tab in DPI setting menu select Normal size (96 DPI)

Windows Vista/7
Open menu Start -> Go to the Control Panel -> Then to Appearance and Personalization - Display Settings.
From text size options select Smaller - 100% (default)
Save the changes"

Yep, the screen text DPI was indeed the cause of my issue! It even effected Ctrl+C with the dialog, something I never had issues with before today.

I was able to enter (and view :D) text as I typed it in, and even pasted my CD Key just fine.

Thanks as always for the prompt and friendly help, GOG community! :D That's why I love this place. Now, on to play the game finally... :D:D:D

I am having this same issue. I followed the instructions to fix it and I am now able to see text and was able to make an account. My CD key however still does not work. I get the message that it is invalid. I have typed it in multiple times as well as using copy and paste. I am 100% sure I have entered it correctly. Win7 ultimate user

You don't need to register anymore. Just install patch 1.1 for the specific version you have, then patch 1.2, and you'll have all the available DLC. 1.1 strips the DRM so registering is unnecessary.

You can find links and instructions here if you haven't already patched: http://www.en.thewitcher.com/community/
