Hello,
I just installed "The Witcher 2", registered myself, and downloaded the mission "Troll trouble".
So far, so good /easy...but,now I face a problem:

When I click the "Install"-Button for the "Troll trouble"-mission, a window appears, saying:"need administrator rights for installation".

Well, I AM the admin on my PC, also logged in as the admin...so, where is the (my) fault?

Thanx in advance!

Right click The witcher desktop icon and set it to run as admin from the properties.
Close the launcher. Restart the launcher by right clicking the game shortcut and chose the option "Run as Admin"

Edit: Ninja'd.

Turn off UAC or run the launcher as administrator.

No problem, I tend to give a + vote for everyone that tried to help so I shall do that in this one too.

That`s a good idea...just followed your advice ;o)

Hello, I see that this is listed as solved problem, but in my opinion this is not good solution.

If I run this game as Admin, I can't load my Witcher 1 savegames (because I wasn't runing Witcher 1 as admin), if I don't start as admin I can't install Troll trouble DLC.

If I start game as admin and install DLC, and than I restart game as normal user, DLC is not installed (since it's installed only on admins acount)

Turning off UAC is not an option, becouse I love it (saved me on many ocasions), and I also wonder why do you need admin account to access DLC? (I understand why would you need it to install dlc, but not to simply access it)

I'll probably play this game as admin (looks like I don't have choice here), but I think this should be listed as a bug.
Hello Zenaj,

I`m very sorry for your discomfort.
Unfortunately, I am not so good in troubleshooting, as you can see in the fact, I had to ask for such a (imo) simple solution referring to my problem.

So I would suggest, you start a Question on your own - the fantastic people here on GoG.com will maybe be able to help you with your problem.

And it`s not very likely, that they find your request here in a -already marked as "solved"- topic.

greetings and good luck!
Thank you for your concern, but I already discovered solution. I just copied savegames from my user account to my admin account.

So I think this can stay here if someone has similar problem (since this was also problem with Troll trouble DLC)

You can right click an item and select "Run as Administrator" to elevate it's privileges while using your limited user account. This negates the need to switch accounts like you were doing.
Yes I'm doing that (right cick, and than run as admin ...)
What I meant is, that I went to:

C:\Users\*Name of my User Account*\My Documents\

And copied The Witcher folder (whic got savegames inside) to:

C:\Users\*Name of my Admin Account*\My Documents\

Sorry if it's hard to understand, since I'm not very good at english ...
