You guys got me itching to start my second playthrough as a Swordsman. Last time I went full Mage path. These moves sound so cool.
I personally love the multiple opponent adrenaline finishers. I found it very useful in the battle of Vergen as I was constantly surrounded by multiple enemies. Also, if you get your Quen in a few slots, you damage multiple opponents when they hit you. The rain makes things even sweeter for Quen here.

gig45: you do realize you can riposte even after the sword symbol dissapears, so you don't have to time it that perfectly...

I myself found it quite useful but it leaves me to counter-attack by the other enemies and sometimes the enemy will be able to pull off a combo before I execute the riposte. So not one of my must-have skills.
Thanks for the reply, it's my first play through so I am just learning.. What would be your suggestion - other that multiple finishers - for a must have skill in the swordsmanship path?

Eh, I never played as a full swordsman (meaning I have 1/3 or so of my points in other trees). I however see dodge and position as my 2 must have skills regardless of which specialization I choose.
I like Whirl, which allows me to wound groups and would-be flankers & backstabbers. You'll need Combat Acumen to get Group Finishers, and of course Whirlwind.
