Homeschooled316: Aard seems to be about as useful in a fight as a force push, but Jedi have much more control over their powers and the whole force intuition thing going for them.

I bet they don't even have to sit down to drink potions.
avatar
vAddicatedGamer: Well, to be fair, witchers do not have to drink potions to be strong. But you made a good argument about force intuition.

But what if the witchers pull out a fully upgraded Quen? That oughta turn the tables
avatar
RuaridhGoG: Well......no i am still right, see witchers can deflect arrows, now since there are no guns in the games time, i would reckon that when they do eventually show up, Geralt would have a talent to deflect bullets.

Can a Jedi defeat the Kayran, nope they would be squashed.

Can a Jedi defeat a dragon, nope they would be eaten.

Plus all the siths would join the witcher and crush the jedi. Ole Luke Skywalker would be running for the hills when Geralt and his band of red swinging sticks come around the corner...... Plus, Geralt would just ressurect anyway and beat that Jedi down...to which the Jedi would return as the "Ghostie," With specter oil and a silver sword that Ghosties going to get it! :D

vAddicatedGamer: If a Jedi can blow up a frakken Death Star or survive being chased by a dozen starfighters, I believe it is not impossible for them to defeat the Kayran and the Dragon.
Look the Deathstar was flawed, the deathstar was destroyed by an x wing, there was a jedi inside but thats beside the point, eventually one of the rebels would have forced some laser down that vent. Geralt, being a witcher, would have fired some Igni or thrown a dragons dream in there, without the mess of debris and the terrible loss of like to the rebel side.

If Obi wan met a dragon, which he didn't fortunatly, he'd have been eaten.

If Yoda met a Kayran, which he didn't fortunatly, remember Yoda and Luke hid cowerdly when R2D2 was attacked by the Monsterlly Kayran to which the kayran spat out R2D2 and then pushed up Lukes ship with a big GTFO my planet. Back to topic, yoda, having too short legs would have been crushed by the tentales of terror.
Well, we know a witcher could out drink and out fuck a Jedi. That's all that matters.
Wait...are you all trying to tell me...

Witchers are not Jedi?

NNNNNuuuuuuooooooo...

However, a bit off topic, but i would have liked some SW quotes in TW2... Vesemir saying "May the force be with you" would have been great :D
Or the Witcher after defeating a gang of Drowners "I killed them. I killed them all."
Are you guys really believing that a witcher with whatever sword he wants can survive a sniper using a 50cal sniper rife firing a shot from a mile away? Please he would be dead. Hell Ves kills him in the prologue if he attacks Roche. A jedi with a blaster and scope kills the poor witcher even before he knows what happens.
sorry but force push is much stronger then aard. since force push can be done from far away. and if the jedi are disarmed they have force pull. they can also lisft the witcher in to the air and laugh at him while hes stuck up there. also luke (a jedi who was not even 100% trained) killed a rankor which can be like a dagon. they also have force speed, so they are fast.

as for parrying bolts in flight, lasers move at the speed of light. they dont even have bullets in starwars. a jedi has many more tricks and most of them are stronger than what the witcher has.

hell i would like to see a witcher lift a tie fighter out of a swamp without touching it. or bring a star destroyer down (ok he was a sith so what) sorry but a wither is just outmatched.
Now... I have seen everything...

Though truth be told I am wondering why would you be wondering who would win here?
Isn't this a bit like... who would win, the Enterprise or the Star Destroyer? :)

Please do not think I am trolling here, because what I would really like to know is the motivation behind a question such as this one?
I mean why would it matter who would win in a fight that would never happen?

The jedi would win in a fight. But the witcher could drink the jedi under the table.

Well, a Jedi is just one 'snap' away from being a Sith...
...and the Sith have done some rather impressive stuff. One has even been able to destroy stars w/ the force (Naga Sadow)

The 'scale' of the powers are just too different. While I think some of the magic in the Witcher setting could be powerful, they tend to be tied down by conditions, I think (like many folklore-based magic, I guess), like curses and such. In any case, I don't think the 'common' magic in the Witcher setting approaches the scale/power/flexibility of 'the force'.

@Ebon:
Vs. threads are kinda amusing. :D
Someone was probably watching (re-watching, hehehe) Star Wars, after playing an hour (or more) of TW1 or TW2, and thought: hmm...Jedi vs. Witcher? :D

Hmm... Vs. stuff:
- Vernon Roche or Artemis Entreri?
- Geralt (w/out signs/magic) or Jamie Lannister (book version, I guess)?
- Triss or DA:O's Morrigan? (I'm biased and would go w/ Morrigan...if judging by voice alone :P )
- Letho or Gregor Clegane?
- Philippa Eilhart or Flemeth? Saskia or Flemeth?
- Saskia or Gwyneth?
- beer drinking contest: Zoltan or Gimli? :D
- Zoltan or Tyrion Lannister?
- Iorveth or Legolas?
- Star Destroyer or Brunhilde? :D

...sorry, I'm bored :P
Awesome :)
Though let's look at it from a different angle and arm both combatants with same weapons :)

Jedi vs. Witcher (both using steel swords and force/signs)
Jedi vs. Witcher (both using light sabres and force/signs)

I mean everyone knows that light sabre > metal weapon of same style, so are we talking here about skill sets or skill sets plus weapons (which would incorporate the setting)? Because it is obvious that those with access to future technologies will always win :)
It would depend on whom that Jedi Knight is. If it's someone like pre-Vader Anakin, Geralt would most likely be victorious.

But if it were Kyle Katarn, Geralt would be in trouble, because Kyle Katarn won't use a lightsaber or the force to defeat Geralt, he would use those just so Geralt would have a chance.
This comparison is kind of pointless as the Star Wars vs Star Trek one.

But I just wanted to chime in and say that we cannot know how lightsabers work against magical weapons. It can easily be argued that magic>technology. Remember, lightsabers are not some kind of force weapons, they are just technology and even in the Star Wars universe there are materials that cannot be destroyed by lightsabers.

A witcher with heliotrope would laugh at a jedi and his force tricks.
Also to those who say the jedi pulls out a pistol, you forget the queen sign (fully upgraded).

Still, if it comes to light saber vs sword, i'm guessing the jedi would have a lot better odds then the witcher.
